Stacking the Shelves #186 Sunday Post #183 Sunday Salon #177

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? I feel like a lifetime has passed since my last Sunday post, but it's only been 2 weeks! Thank you to those of you who prayed I would not get sick before our family reunion, I didn't! Sunday morning I woke up feeling like I had the flu. Thankfully, I didn't, just a nasty virus, but it knocked me out all day on Sunday, I slept most of the day. I was still staying at my sister's house with her family, and my mom was staying there as well, so I was super concerned I would get them sick. So far, none of them are, but I STILL am. We got back from TN Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning I woke up with a fever and my cough was worse. Thursday morning the fever was higher, but no fever Friday, although I did decide to go to the doctor because my cough was even worse. They prescribed lots of rest and fluids for this weekend, so that's my plan. Hopefully I will be all better and able to go to work on Monday. My daughter is also coming for a visit this weekend.

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your te  shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

Bought: This is where the confessions start coming in, LOL! In some ways, I am annoyed with myself, because I had made a great dent in reading the books I own, and now I lessened that dent! First, my husband and I went to Barnes and Noble on our way to TN and I bought a beautiful copy of Little Women (probably the prettiest book I own). I have been wanting to read it again, but my copy is packed up. Then, on Tuesday we went to McKay's in Knoxville-one of the best used bookstores, and I caught some of their better deals, so really, I had too 😂 (like books for .75 cents, $1, and $3)

The three pictured below I have read before, but I want to reread.

Other updates:

I finished four books this week, one of the reviews will post tomorrow, the rest are already up. I did a few updates on my other blog if you are interested. Here are two pictures from my family reunion, a picture of me with my mom and siblings, and another picture of ALL of us.

What you might have missed on the blog the last 2 weeks:

Book Review: Old Town Symphony by Milla Holt

Top Ten Tuesday: Fall 2025 TBR part 1

Book Review: The Easy Bible Study Method

Top Ten Tuesday: Fall 2025 TBR part 2

Book Review: The Highland Heist by Pepper Basham

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  5. I'm glad to know you're feeling better. We had family reunions on my mom's side every year as far back as I can remember until all the parents were gone. I miss them and would love to see my cousins once a year still.

    1. Vicki, my siblings want to try and start doing this yearly. It is hard when we live in three different states. I haven't seen my cousins in YEARS.

  7. I can't resist books on sale for such prices! I must confess that I went to two bookstores, two libraries, and one book sale last week.

That Little Women book is beautiful. Enjoy the reread!

  8. Nice family reunion pics! That's good you didn't get sick before the reunion, hope you get well soon. The copy of Little Women is so pretty, I like those versions of the classics they have at Barnes n Noble. I resisted buying Withering Heights last time I went!

  9. I hope you feel better soon! I, too, love McKays and find it hard to show restraint when I manage to go lol–which, fortunately, is not often, since there's not a location near me! My sister and her husband live in TN, though, so I try to get to McKays when I visit them.

    1. Karis, same! I don't live near McKay's either, so I do try to go when I am close to one of their locations!

  10. Delighted that you managed to recover in time for the family reunion - gosh, what a lot of you!! And what lovely photos. As for books... I've stopped getting worried about the huge, teetering piles of unread books I've amassed. If it was anything else, I'd be concerned. But I'm a bookworm - it's what we do:)). Have a great week.

  16. Well, I'm glad you did not get sick for the reunion, but sorry you got sick later. Which family member can you blame? Hmmm.... Just kidding!

I am a sucker for pretty books or cheap books so I shall forgive you your trespasses against your commitment not to add more books to your pile. You'll have to ask Jesus to forgive you too! *wink* (again..I'm just teasing!)

Looks like a great list though! here is to you feeling better and staying healthy!

  19. McKays is a dangerous place! I discovered one about 45 minutes from where I live and of course had to make a road trip of it! Looks like you picked up some great books! Your reunion photos are great! It must be so much fun to get together with everyone! I'm glad you didn't get sick before the reunion. I caught Covid from my hubby, and who knows where he got it. But he woke up one morning really sick and about a week later I followed. It's been about 3 weeks now and we are finally starting to feel better.

    1. Suzanne, McKays is a very dangerous place, but we are rescuing books, LOL!!!! I am so sorry you all have been sick with Covid, I had it the first time in June and I was sick for two weeks. I have taken 3 Covid/flu tests this time because the sickness has just lingered, but all have been negative. Thanks for stopping by!!!
