Stacking the Shelves #206 Sunday Post #203 Sunday Salon #197

Hey, my bookish friends!!  How are you all doing? Time change made the week seem so long, as did the crazy weather. I loved the sunshine when we had it, but wasn't thrilled to see snow flurries as well. I am feeling called to read more of my own books, so with the exception of two of the library books I had out, I took them all back this week. I am in a weird head space, so also doing some rereading to help with stress. Not much going on this weekend, just normal weekend stuff (picking up groceries, laundry, church). I don't think the weather is going to be warm enough to be outside.

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your  shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

Net Galley: None

Library Treasures: none, I took most of them back and cancelled some holds

Bought: One of my preorders came in

No More Boring Bible Study was a splurge buy, I was curious and it was on a good sale. I watch some of her YouTube videos and I saw she had written a book. It arrived this morning.

Book Mail: None

Kindle Freebies: None

Other updates:

I finished 3 books this week and I am caught up on reviews. One of the (Criss Cross) was a reread, so I had previously reviewed it. I am now reading Cross Fire, the second book in the Holly series, and it is also a reread. I am planning to reread the entire series since another book comes out in May.

My other blog if interested.

What you might have missed on the blog this week:

Top Ten Tuesday: Ordinal Numbers

Book Review: The Backpack Bride by Dulcie Dameron

Book Review: The Gentleman Spy by Erica Vetsch

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  1. So jealous that you're caught up on reviews. I will never be caught up and it does not help that I am on day 23 of the plague, lol. A couple more days of antibiotics and hopefully I will feel like getting some reviews done!

    1. Oh Sarah, I am SO sorry you have not been feeling well (I know that feeling all to well). Hopefully you are 100% soon! I think give yourself grace, there are some seasons where we simply can't review all the books. I think I am heading into one myself.

    2. Thank you! I've been done with the antibiotic a couple days now and finally feel like I have energy back. There is a lingering cough, butit isn't constant like last week and the week before and the week before, lol. I used to have the hardest time DNF-ing a book but gradually got comfortable with it. Now I think I have to learn to be comfortable not reviewing every single book. The thought of not doing so though, makes me so uncomfortable. I can't explain it.

    3. Sarah, I know, you are preaching to the choir! Now that I have started reviewing them all, it is hard to not say anything about a book, so I typically still say something, even when I DNF it (even if it's just so I remember why I didn't want to continue it).

  5. I’m ahead in terms of the posting dates requiring reviews but I’ve got 5 books I still need to write reviews for right now.

Wishing you a warmer reading week

  7. I have been in a weird headspace too lately. I am trying to read only the books I have for the next couple of months. I slipped a bit on my book buying ban but I think I am back on track! Of course I didn't say my husband couldn't buy books for me. Ha!

    1. Lisa, a huge part of mine is grief and I am finding it hard to do some things that I would normally want to do. I have to be careful with the books I am picking to read or it's going to send me right into a book slump. The struggle is real, isn't it, with the books?

  8. Congrats on getting caught up. I am so with you on finding comfort in re-reads/listens. Something I never really did before but am currently embracing.

    1. Kimberly, same! I have never been a huge rereader, but right now that is what I am gravitating toward.

  11. You're not sure if the weather will be warm enough to go out and I'm sitting here in the 90s thinking it's too hot to go out. lol Can we both please get a happy medium????

  12. I'll be curious to see what you think about No More Boring Bible Study. I wonder why Bible studies are often so disappointing to me.

It got so cold in East Texas; it was down to 24 degrees F! Whew.

    1. Deb, I am looking forward to No More Boring Bible Study. My guess would be that so many give you the information, then ask generic questions, not really taking you on a deeper level. 24 is very cold for Texas!
