Stacking the Shelves #208 Sunday Post #205 Sunday Salon #199

Hey, my bookish friends!!  How are you all doing? I had a decent week. I was able to walk outside twice this week, which was such a blessing. Thursday was super nice and my boss decided we both needed a half day to enjoy the sunshine. I went to the lake beach that is nearby, walked, then settled in to read my book. I was there an hour and a half, in the 75 degree weather, and it was glorious! Also, the highlight of my week. We are going through a lot of hard and found out Thursday afternoon another member of the family has cancer. We are waiting to hear if it has spread or is confined. This weekend is on the cold/rainy side again, so it is mostly chores and cleaning on our radar. Do you have anything fun planned?

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your  shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

Joy of Heaven and 1&2 Thessalonians: Hope in the Midst of Trials are both review books from Baker Book house.
I gave a donation to Proverbs 31 Ministries and got this book for "free." Come Close to Jesus by Lysa Terkeurst
Hart of Noel and these stickers and bookmark are an author gift from Chautona Havig. I have all the other books of this series (Bookstrings) and she said "I really need to send you Hart of Noel" and she did! I had already read it, and I love that it is a true gift, with no obligations attached to it (another bright spot in my week).

Other updates:

I finished 5 books this week. One I stopped about a hundred pages from the end, I just wasn't enjoying it. I finished an audiobook on the way home from work yesterday, it's review will be up tomorrow.

What you might have missed on the blog this week:

Book Review: The Indebted Earl by Erica Vetsch

Top Ten Tuesday: 2026 Spring Pile of Possibilities

Book Review: Jesus Listens for Lent and Easter by Sarah Young

Book Review: Cross Words by Chautona Havig

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  1. I'm sorry that you are going through a lot of hard stuff right now. Ugh. Here's to having the strength and persistence to push through to the other side.

And what a delight to spend a half day enjoying the sunshine at a lake beach!

  3. Aww, that gift from the author is sweet.

Your Thursday sounds lovely -- how nice of your boss to give you the half day, too. It's always nice to recognise these blessings! But I'm sending good wishes for your family with the rough time you've been going through, too.

  6. I love the idea of going to a lake beach. I was outdoors in 40 degree weather, not too bad for minnesota, and loved being on the playground for some reason.

  8. I'm so sorry to hear of the health problems in your family right now and hope the news is good. It's at times like these that days on the beach really matter. Like you, if I'm not enjoying a book, I stop reading - there's far too many good ones out there to want to continue trudging through something I'm not enjoying. Hoping this coming week is a kinder one:).

  16. Sorry to hear about your family member. Seems like God gave you a glorious day to help deal with the news. I will keep this all up in prayer. Thessalonians sounds like a good choice right now. Thinking of you.
