Stacking the Shelves #213 Sunday Post #210 Sunday Salon #204

Hey, my bookish friends!!  How are you all doing? I am doing much better than I have been, and even graduated from PT, earlier than anticipated, praise God! Last weekend, my husband I visited Shipshewana, Indiana. We enjoyed our time in Amish country, despite the stresses that creeped in. We were supposed to be moving our daughter from one place to another in Columbus this weekend, but the housing fell through, and then a roommate backed out. She is hoping to find a place so she can move next weekend. So, this weekend is completely free. I had bought my husband Ticket to Ride: Legends of the West for our anniversary, and we started playing that yesterday with our son, and plan to continue to play through it today (Saturday), as it continues to build upon your previous plays. It is a lot of fun. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your  shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

Net Galley: None

Library Treasures:

Target Acquired is the second in the Lake City Heroes series. I have read the first one, and have books 3 & 4, so I grabbed it so I can finish the series (and read two more books on my shelf!). The Chosen is our book club pick for June. It is not something that I want to read, but I will give it a fair shot.

Bought:

My ladies Bible Study is finishing up our study in Acts and next up is Romans.

Book Mail: None

Kindle Freebies: None

Other updates:

I only finished four books this week. I am currently caught up on my reviews. I have never put a video in one of my posts, but I do hope it works right. If not, someone please tell me so I can remove it, LOL! This was a common occurrence in Shipshewana and we loved it. We would sit on our tiny porch and watch the horse and buggies stroll by.

What you might have missed on the blog this week:

Book Review: I Surrender All by Priscilla Shirer

Book Review: The Duke's Bargain by Megan Walker

Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite authors and books

Book Review: Boundless by Amy Caldwell

Book Review: A Deal with a Debutante by Chelsea Bobulski

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

    1. Linda, I have not been to the Amish country in Lancaster, PA, yet. I have enjoyed the communities in Ohio (Middleburg, Berlin, Holmes County), but this was our first trip to Shipshewana.

  4. OMG, Chaim Potok is so so good, I devoured all his novels. Why do you think you won't like it?

    1. Emma, I don't read much YA or teen fiction anymore, and with it being YA historical fiction, it's just not my thing. However, I will give it a fair shot, and hopefully it will surprise me. These days, I really need humor in my historical fiction, and it doesn't *seem* like it will have it, it seems more serious. But, again, I could be wrong.

  7. It's been a while since I read The Chosen! I think I might have read it during COVID while the libraries were closed, since it was sitting on a shelf at my house (which is to say, it wasn't my first pick either lol).
    I love the buggies!

  9. Great news about being finished with PT. I’ve not been to Amish country. Must be interesting with horse traffic and car traffic on the road together. Sorry your daughter’s new housing fell through.

    1. Olivia, I am super fascinated by the Amish way of life, a slower pace (not enough to give up my modern conveniences though, LOL!).

  10. Sorry to hear that your daughter is having accommodation problems - it's always hard when relocating a distance away, because I'm guessing she doesn't know many people there. The pics and video of the Amish country looks fascinating - though it must be a bit nerve-shredding having horse-drawn vehicles on the same road as cars. Have a great week.

    1. For the most part, they are on the side of the road, but it does force you to slow down.

  15. So happy to hear about PT!! That must be such a relief. As for the housing situation for your daughter, I know exactly how that feels. It's a scramble to figure things out when lans fall through, but I know it will work out! Here's to lots of good books in June!!

  16. We have some Amish here, but more Mennonite so seeing the horse and buggy isn't as common. Hope your daughter can figure out her living situation soon.

    The game sounds fun.

I hope to read Chaim Potok's books myself at some point. It's on my shelf at least.

    1. Thanks Lisa. We have an Amish community here in Ohio as well, but they are more spread out, whereas in Shipshewana, they are more centralized, so we literally saw them everywhere.
