Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Books on My Spring 2026 To-Read List. This is always fun and I have a gazillion books I want to read. Just and FYI, I am struggling and in a weird head space. My mom is not doing well, and is officially in hospice. I am grieving (anticipatory grief), and it is hard for me to focus and keep up with things. If you notice slack over the next few weeks (or past few weeks), this is why. Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Genre Freebie. I decided to go with book preorders. I have never done a post like this before, probably because I rarely do preorders (money has always been tight). But, this year, there are a handful of books (7!) I can't wait to get my hands on, so I decided to do preorders. I love being able to support authors in this way, and trust me, I understand not everyone can. Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Books Set in Snowy Places (If snow isn’t your thing, pick another kind of place and share books set there!) I don't have the brain capacity to figure out where books are set and I thought about just doing books with snow on the cover, but instead I think I will go with my favorite Christmas books so far this year...and if they have snow on the cover=bonus! A Very Merry Matchup has everything you could possibly want in a Christmas RomCom. I loved everything about this story.

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? Mine was busy with a few extra appointments, and Wednesday was A DAY, but then Friday rolled around and I got off 2 hours early, with pay! So, I can't complain too much. Friday evening was just lots of relaxing, ordering pizza, watching tv with the family, and reading. We had no plans for the weekend, but now we have 2 house showings, and I woke up sick again this morning. I don't know if whatever I had decided to rear it's ugly head again, or if this is another virus. I had felt mostly better this week, still a slight cough and some congestion, but now my cough is worse again and a ton of congestion. (Update 10/12-secondary bacterial infection from my previous illness that never completely went away)

Christmas Reading Challenges 2025

I know, I know, I said I was tired of challenges, and I am, BUT, hear me out. I am tired of the ones I am already working on, I'm not tired of Christmas yet 😂. I am going to read Christmas books anyway, I might as well support some fellow bloggers 😁. So, I am going to try to finish up my other challenges this month, so that I can clear the deck to read as many Christmas books as my heart desires. This year has been super hard and I am looking forward to the hope/happy feels that Christmas reads generally bring.

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? I did a lot of relaxing last weekend, and walking (almost 6 miles), so I did not get any packing done, oops. But, I did get some done on Tuesday. On Wednesday the contract on our house fell through, so it is back on the market again. We had two showings last night (Friday), and we will see what the weekend brings. While our house was being shown my husband and I went to Barnes and Noble 😁. On my agenda this weekend is some packing, my daughter is coming home to spend the night this afternoon, and will leave first thing tomorrow, more relaxing, hopefully some walking...

My Review:

First Love, Second Draft takes a hot minute to get into with the changing perspectives of the story. You have the story of the main characters, Noah and Gracie, and you also get the perspective of Gracie's nephew Matt.

Rendezvous update 2

So, part two of the JustRead Rendezvous 2024 reader event. You can read part one here. After lunch was another reader panel. Kimberley Woodhouse was the moderator of this one. Each author had to pick one of their characters to be and only answer as that character. It was hilarious. Several authors on the panel were suspense writers, and a couple were fantasy. Sara Ella was one of the authors and I loved her answers. She was in character as Alice in Wonderland from her book The Wonderland Trials. While I had read several authors books who were on the different panels throughout the day, hearing all the authors talk and interact made me want to read their books, even though several are genres I don't read.

Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is a Halloween Freebie. Saturday I went hiking with my husband and yesterday (Monday) I went hiking with my son. I thought it would be fun to do a post on books that have hiking in them. The problem is my memory! I know I read two books recently that had hiking in it and I only remember one of them. I also know there was one book in one of my favorite series, but of course I can't remember which book, LOL!
