I want to read more Classics but instead of doing a challenge, I am just going to track them here. I am going to start with the ones I have read this year (2025) and not go back any further, then list the ones I want to read. As I read them, I will add the review to this page. I know if I do the Classics Club I have to start with 50 or more that I want to read, and honestly, at this point I doubt there are that many (that I know of) that I want to read. I am also not 100% sure all of these are classics, but this is what I came up with (the list will grow or shrink over time, LOL)
Read during 2025:
- The Nine Taylors by Dorothy Saywers
- Emma by Jane Austen
- A Diary of Private Prayer by John Baille
- To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
- North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
Want to read in no particular order:
- Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell
- The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis
- The Life of Charlotte Brontë by Elizabeth Gaskell
- Jane Eyre by Charlottte Brontë
- A Grief Observed by C. S. Lewis
- The Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie
- Sleeping Murder by Agatha Christie
- The Thirteen Problems by Agatha Christie
- A Caribbean Mystery by Agatha Christie
- Appointment with Death by Agatha Christie
- Excellent Women by Barbara Pym
- Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes
- Pat of Silver Bush by L.M. Montgomery
- Just David by Eleanor Porter
- My Man Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse
- Streams in the Desert by Mrs. Charles Cowman
- If by Amy Carmichael
- The Sovereignty of God by Arthur Pink
- Hinds' Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard
- Persuasion by Jane Austen
I think I would like to re-read:
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Little Men by Louisa May Alcott
Jo's Boys by Louisa May Alcott
A Christmas Carol and other Christmas Stories by Charles Dickens
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Scarlett O'Hara by Margaret Mitchell
I'm on my second year of the Classics Club challenge and I haven't followed my initial list of 50 very well. I've just been reading whatever classics I feel like, and then I push the rest of the unread list down. 😂 Good luck on your personal classics challenge! I haven't read many of the books on your list but I love the ones on your re-read list!
ReplyDeleteThanks Haze, I know there are SO many classics out there, I LOVED Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster, so I should probably see if she wrote other books.
