My Review:
Tempest at Annabel's Lighthouse is one of those books that is hard to review. So, I am just going to give my incoherent thoughts.

Title: Jane Eyre
Author: Charlotte Brontë
Publisher: Dover Publications
Genre: Historical Fiction, Romance, Classics, Gothic

My Review:
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë is a dense book. I can't remember the last time a book took me eight days to read. I feel like I accomplished something, LOL.

Author: Terrie Todd
Publisher: Mountain Brook Ink
Genre: Historical Fiction, Christian Fiction, WWII

My Review:
Even if I Perish is told through a mix of letters and the character's perspective. It is based on the true accounts of Mary Cornish during WWII, and the CORB program that sent children from England to other countries. It is a harrowing story of loss, devastation, determination, and faith.

My Review:
Fairest of Heart is the first of Karen Witemeyer's Texas Ever After series. With the stories being fairy tale retellings, they don't need to be read in any particular order.

My Review:
The Letter From Briarton Park is my first introduction to Sarah E. Ladd's books. Jude Mason did a good job with the narration.

Series: Freddie & Grace Mystery #4
Author: Pepper Basham
Narrator: Pamala Klein
Publisher: Barbour Fiction
Genre: Historical Fiction, Mystery, Christian Fiction,

My Review:
My husband and I listened to The Highland Heist by Pepper Basham on our trip this week. I have read the first three books, but he has not. I think the books are best read in chronological order so that you understand everything mentioned. However, I only had to stop the recording once to explain something to my husband; he got the gist of everything else. I thought the narration was okay.

While The Silver Shadow by Liz Tolsma is part of the multi-author series True Colors, it is a standalone novel.

My Review:
I was not looking forward to reading Johnny Tremain, this month's book club pick. However, I didn't dislike it as much as I had anticipated. I don't read many war stories or middle-grade fiction.

Series: Hearts on the Heath #3
Author: Kristi Ann Hunter
Publisher: Bethany House
Genre: Historical, Christian Fiction, Regency, Romance
Source: Library
My Review:
Enchanting the Heiress is the third and final book in the Hearts on the Heath series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but I recommend reading the first two books, or at least the second, as Jonas and Harriet are first introduced in those books. It will give you a broader understanding of their character and interactions with their friends.

Publisher: Penguin Books
Genre: Classic, Historical Fiction, Victorian era, romance

My Review:
I finally did it! I finally read North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell!! Did I love it? No. Did I hate it? No. It had an interesting storyline that kept me invested. I did, at times, feel the length of the novel and felt it could have been shorter, LOL!

Series: Hearts on the Heath #2

My Review:
Winning the Gentleman is the second book in the Hearts on the Heath series. While it could be read as a stand-alone novel, I recommend reading Vying for the Viscount first, as that is where we are first introduced to Aaron Whitworth (our mmc).

I don't know why I waited so long to read Vying for the Viscount. I have enjoyed every Kristi Ann Hunter book I have read, and this is no exception. Anne Marie Giedon does a fantastic job with the narration.
