Title: Jane Eyre
Author: Charlotte Brontë
Publisher: Dover Publications
Genre: Historical Fiction, Romance, Classics, Gothic
Source: Own
My Review:
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë is a dense book. I can't remember the last time a book took me eight days to read. I feel like I accomplished something, LOL.

Author: Esther Forbes
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
Genre: Young Adult, Middle Grade, American Revolution, Historical Fiction, Classics
Source: Library
My Review:
I was not looking forward to reading Johnny Tremain, this month's book club pick. However, I didn't dislike it as much as I had anticipated. I don't read many war stories or middle-grade fiction.

Author: Elizabeth Gaskell
Publisher: Penguin Books
Genre: Classic, Historical Fiction, Victorian era, romance
Source: Kindle Own
My Review:
I finally did it! I finally read North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell!! Did I love it? No. Did I hate it? No. It had an interesting storyline that kept me invested. I did, at times, feel the length of the novel and felt it could have been shorter, LOL!
Author: Harper Lee
Publisher: Harper Collins
Genre: Historical Fiction, Classics, Young Adult
Source: Kindle Unlimited
My Review:
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is not a book I would typically read. However, it was our book club pick for this month, so I had to read it.
Author: John Baillie
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
Genre: Nonfiction, Devotional Classic, Prayer,
Source: Library
My Review:
I can see why John Baillie's A Diary of Private Prayer is a devotional classic. I want to say the book is simply a book of prayers, but there is nothing simple about them.

Author: L. M. Montgomery
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Genre: Classic, Historical Fiction, Romance, Young Adult
Source: Own
My Review:
The only books I have read by L.M. Montgomery are the Anne of Green Gables series. I enjoyed them as a child and have always wondered if I would enjoy them as an adult. I have had The Blue Castle on my shelf for a few years.

Author: Baroness Orczy
Narrator: Michael Ward
Publisher: Puffin Books
Genre: Classic, Historical Fiction
Source: Own & Hoopla
My Review:
The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy is not something I would have picked to read. I read it because it was the classic for my book club this month. The only problem is that I don't typically enjoy classics, and I don't typically read from this period. So, my enjoyment was doomed from the beginning.

Series: Daddy-Long-Legs #2
Author: Jean Webster
Genre: Classics, Epistolary, Historical Fiction
Source: Own
My Review:
Dear Enemy is the second in the Daddy-Long-Legs series by Jean Webster. The books need to be read in order for this one to make sense.

Title: Northanger Abbey
Author: Jane Austen
Publisher: Wordsworth
Source: Owned
My review:
Well, I enjoyed Northanger Abbey more than Sense and Sensibility. I think if I am really going to enjoy classics I need to listen to them on audio. That way I won't notice the long parts with no dialogue as much.

My Review:
I know that a lot of people love Jane Austen. I wanted to be one of them. I am not one of them.
