Where the Road Bends

Title: Where the Road Bends

Author: Rachel Fordham

My Review:

I finished this a few days ago and then moved, so my brain is all over the place. My review will not do this book justice.

Resisting the Fall

Title: Resisting the Fall

Series: Falling for Autumn

Author: Jess Heileman

Narrators: Kate Coventry and Ryan Duncan

Source: Hoopla

My Review:

At first, the flashbacks got on my nerves. However, as the story continues, you can see how integral they are to the plot and to understanding what led Ben and Maven to where they are now.

The Sowing Season

Title : The Sowing Season

Author: Katie Powner

My Review:

I love multi-generational stories. Something about them draws me in. This one was no exception. I was immediately drawn in by Gerrit's plight.

My Review:

I loved this story; it is my favorite of the series.

TTT-G is for great books!

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: : Authors I’ve Met. I have already done posts like this and you can check them out here, here, here and here. I have not met any new authors since my last post. So, today I am going to continue with the alphabet and I am up to "G." I picked ten of my favorites that started with G. It is a mix of fiction and nonfiction. A  B, C, D, E and F.  Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

TTT- Favorite Indie Authors

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Indie Freebie (submitted by @dark.shelf.of.wonders and Books Are The New Black). I do read a lot of Indie authors, so hopefully this will be a pretty easy topic this week. The hard part will be narrowing it down. My time was short this week, so no books, but if you click on the authors name, it will take you to their Goodreads page. All authors write clean books (minimal to no language or spice). Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Birds on a Wire

Title: Birds on a Wire

Author: Katie Powner

My Review:

When I first started reading the story, I was like, "That wouldn't happen that way."

A Confirmed Rake

Title: A Confirmed Rake

Series: The Donovans #2

Author: Martha Keyes

Narrators: Ella Lynch & Rupert Degas

Source: Hoopla

My Review:

A Confirmed Rake is the second book in the Donovan series, and while it COULD be read as a standalone novel, I highly recommend reading The Art of Victory first. There we meet Diana (Valentine's sister) and Marmaduke (Rebecca's brother).

TTT-F is for fantastic favorites

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Books With Nationalities In The Title (e.g. The French Lieutenant’s Woman, Mexican Gothic, An American Marriage, etc.) (submitted by Cathy @WhatCathyReadNext). I tried to do this but I don't read many books with Nationalities in the title. I found three. So, instead, I am going to go a different route.  I am going to continue with the alphabet and I am up to "F." I picked ten of my favorites that started with F and for me all were 5-star reads. A  B, C, D, and E. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Top Ten Tuesday- F is for fantastic favorites

Fights of Fancy by Jen Turano

July Reading Wrap Up 2026

July was a weird month. I had quite a few health things going on, but seemed to have a bit more free time than I have had lately. I finished 22 books, and I had one DNF. Unfortunately, overall, I feel like the last half of the month was mediocre reading, with a few exceptions. I had three 2-star reads, which is super rare for me (I don't list two stars or DNFs here). Click on the cover of the book if you are interested in reading my review.

A Brewed Awakening

Title: A Brewed Awakening

Author: Pepper Basham

Source: own

My Review:

I loved this book!  I will say that, given how the story is written, it might not translate as well to audio; I feel like it might be a little harder to follow.

TTT-Memorable Books

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Books That Live in My Head Rent-Free (Stolen from Emma @ damppebbles.com). I am not entirely sure what this means, but I am going to go with memorable books. As someone who does not remember a lot of details about the books I read, i am going to go with books that I can remember stuff about. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Top Ten Tuesday-8 Memorable books

My Review:

I am so sad that this series is over. I love the Graham family and loved all their stories. I highly recommend reading the series in order. It will make you appreciate this story so much more. I have been looking forward to Tank's story.

Brighter Than Before

Title: Brighter Than Before

Highcliffe House

With Highcliffe House, I have officially read all of Megan Walker's Proper Romance books, and I am SO sad there are not currently any more.

Not What We Pictured

Title: Not What We Pictured

Author: Becca Kinzer

Source: own

My Review:

I put this book off for a few weeks because the title was hitting a little too close to home, LOL. However, I have to let go of my regret of judging a book by its title and assuming it would be similar to my situation.

A Deal With A Debutante

Title: A Deal With A Debutante

Series: London's Most Eligible #1

Author: Chelsea Bobulski

Narrator: Amy Scanlon

Source: Hoopla

My Review:

A Deal with A Debutante is my first book by Chelsea Bobulski, but it won't be my last. I enjoyed the narration by Amy Scanlon.

TTT-Favorite authors & books

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: My Favorite Books by My Favorite Authors (Pick your ten favorite authors and your favorite book written by each one of them.) (submitted by Cathy @WhatCathyReadNext) I am not sure why Cathy did this to us, doesn't she know it's going to be SOOOOO hard to narrow down? However, I love the topic because we will be highlighting our favorites!! I think we can all agree that our favorite authors change as our reading tastes change, so I am going to go with my top ten favorite authors right now, which is still going to be difficult to narrow down! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

The Duke's Bargain

Title: The Duke's Bargain

Author: Megan Walker

Source: Own

My Review:

While this is a stand-alone novel, there is something you need to know. The Duke from Miss Newbury's List and Georgiana from Lakeshire Park are the main characters in this book. If you have not read those books, I highly recommend reading them before starting this one to understand the full story behind these two characters.

I Surrender All

Title: I Surrender All

Author: Priscilla Shirer

Source: Own

My Review:

I Surrender All is a call to action. A reminder that when we call ourselves "Christian," we are called to surrender everything to Jesus.
