July reading wrap up 2025

I feel like I spend July in England since I binged so many of the Emma M. Lion journals 😂😂. While I did a lot of things in July, I still managed to read quite a bit as well. I read 17 books and DNF'd one. And, until I put this post together, I had not realized how many 5-star reads I had this month! I can say with absolute certainty that I have never had that many 5-star reviews in a month (and probably won't again). Click on the cover of the book if you are interested in reading my review.

Top Ten Tuesday-Cindy's World

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic isBooks Set in/Take Place During X (Pick a place, time, era, etc. Examples: Books set in Europe/Italy/Australia/Chicago, books set in Regency England, books that take place during the 1900s, books set in imaginary worlds/post-apocalyptic/dystopian worlds, books set on the ocean, books set it castles, books that take place during WW2, etc.) I am struggling! I can't think of anything that will get me to 10 books...so we are going into my world, where I list the last 10 books I gave 5-stars to!  Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Untangle Your Emotions

Title: Untangle Your Emotions: Naming What You Feel and Knowing What to Do About It

Author: Jennie Allen

Publisher: Waterbrook

Genre: Christian Nonfiction, Self-Help, Christian Living

My Review:

Untangle Your Emotions by Jennie Allen, is one of those books that need to be owned. I started reading a library copy, but a few pages in, realized it was one I needed to be able to highlight in.

Stacking the Shelves #173 Sunday Post #170, Sunday Salon #164

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? I started Monday at the ER with my daughter, she has a kidney stone that she has been trying to pass all week. My book club met Thursday night, we had a new member, and despite not loving the book we were discussing, we had a great time. I was finally well enough to make it back to the gym Friday morning, and finally feel like I am back in the land of the living. I got hard news Friday afternoon and am still trying to process it. We are planning to see a few houses this weekend (still no luck on selling ours), go to Church, and hopefully go back to the beach lake we found last weekend.

Top Ten Tuesday-Buy Worthy Books

Happy Tuesday, my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is Books I Loved So Much I Had to Get a Copy for My Personal Library (Submitted by Alecia @ The Staircase Reader). This should be fairly simple for me as I can think of a few books I have added over the last few years for this exact reason 😀 The hard part will be narrowing it down 😂 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Happy July, my bookish friends!!! I can't believe the year is half over! How was your reading this month? I had a pretty good month of reading.

Find Your People

Title: Find Your People: Building Deep Community in a Lonely World

Author: Jennie Allen

Genre: Self-help, Christian Nonfiction, Christian Living

Publisher: Waterbrook

Source: Library/Own

My review:

I will start by saying while this is Christian nonfiction, it is not preachy. Jennie's answers aren't "find God" or "go to Church" or anything like that. This book is helpful for anyone who is lonely, whether spiritual/Christian or not.

Stacking the Shelves #26, Sunday Post #23, Sunday Salon #18

Hey bookish friends! How are things going for you? Not much going on here, still not feeling wonderful. I am going to take advantage of not having any plans and work on reading and
blogging this weekend 😁

Hey bookish friends! How are things going for you? I am supposed to be at the lake with my family and youth group today, but I have another stinkin' viral infection. The doctor said I could go if I wore a mask whole time. Not thanks, that is not fun in this heat.

It's Monday! What are you reading? #3

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are planning to read over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and add to your TBR pile! This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.

Get Out of Your Head

Title: Get Out of Your Head

Genre: Christian Living, Christian Nonfiction, Bible Study

My review:

Do you ever feel like your thoughts are spiraling out of control? You have one stray thought and then another and before you know it you have spiraled so far down the rabbit trail that you wonder how you got there? Yea, me either 😔 If we're honest, we all have. Jennie Allen has written this book to help us stop spiraling into the pit of toxic thoughts.

TTT-Stranded on a desert island

Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday! I hope you are off to a great start to your week. This week’s topic features books that I would want with me if I were stranded on a desert island. Since I do not typically read a book over and over again, I will pick some of the books that have been on my to-be-read list for quite a while. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what books others would want if they were stranded on an island.

My Bible-if I am going to be stranded anywhere I would need my Bible for the hope and encouragement it would give me!

Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen-I would also need help with my thought life.
