My review:

I enjoyed Literarily: How Understanding Bible Genres Transforms Bible Study by Kristie Anyabwile, but it is a harder book to review. Anyabwile gives an excellent idea of what's included in her book in the synopsis below.

What If Jesus Was Serious?

Title: What if Jesus Was Serious? A Visual Guide to the Teachings of Jesus We Love to Ignore

Author: Skye Jethani

Genre: Christian Nonfiction, Christian Living, Bible Study

Publisher: Moody Publishers

Source: Own

My Review:

I thought with the size of this book, it would be a quick and easy book to read. I was wrong. While it can be read quickly , because it does not have a lot of pages, you would miss so much. What If Jesus Was Serious? A Visual Guide to the Teachings of Jesus We Love to Ignore is best to be read slowly, thinking over each section.

Living Out Titus 2 is a very quick read. It starts with a brief overview of what Titus 2 is and then offers encouragement that we are not meant to walk this road alone.

Title: Courageous Influence: Embrace the Way God Made You For Impact

Author: (in)courage Grace P. Cho

Publisher: Revell

Genre: Bible Study/Devotional

My Review:

But in its purest form, influence is simply the capacity to effect change in someone.

This is the third book in the Courageous series and also the third that I have read. I love the way these studies are designed and organized. I appreciate the way they are created for personal growth. You can do the studies alone, or can do it with a group. Either way, I highly recommend these studies.

Jennie Allen has written this book to help us stop spiraling into the pit of toxic thoughts.

Author: Carey Scott

Publisher: Barbour Publishing

Genre: Bible Study, Deovtional

My Review:

This was my first time reading a book by Carey Scott, but I look forward to reading more of her works!

This book can be read very quickly or slowly, depending on how the reader wants to take it. The book is not broken into days or chapters. It is simply a heading, followed by a Bible verse, and the section ends with a quick devotional related to the section.

Courageous Joy: Celebrating God's Goodness in Every Season

Title: Courageous Joy: Celebrating God's Goodness in Every Season

Author: (in)courage

Publisher: Revell

Genre: Bible Study/Devotional

Synopsis:

Discover how to delight in the Lord through every season

"Rejoice in the Lord always."

This familiar Bible verse is a command and an invitation, but we don't always see it that way. Often this encouragement to rejoice--to be joyful always--becomes just one more thing on our "be a good Christian" checklist. But what if it's actually a gift from God?
