Top Ten Tuesday-Recap of Anticipated releases early in 2025

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Freebie/Throwback (Come up with a topic you’d like to do or go back and do an old topic you missed or just want to do again!) With us doing our most anticipated releases for the last half of the year last week, quite a few of you revisted your 1st half list and said how you did. So, this week, I am looking back at what I anticipated from the first half of the year and seeing how many of them I read. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Top Ten Tuesday-Did I read all of my anticipated reads from the first half of the year? Spoiler alert-no. But, you can click on the cover to see my review of the ones I did read, if you are interested.

Stacking the Shelves #174 Sunday Post #171 Sunday Salon #165

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? It was a busy, weird week. I can't remember most of what happened, LOL, but on Wednesday my daughter passed her kidney stone, praise the Lord! Then she immediately got in the car and drove to Columbus for a job interview. Talk about perfect timing! I also had a job interview on Wednesday and got the job. I start work on Monday. The bad news I got last Friday is that my mom's cancer is now in both lungs, and we were expecting to get a short this is it notice, like 6 months, but her doctors said that without treatment she should live several years, for this we are thankful. We are hoping to go back out to the beach lake this weekend, depending on the weather. We need some serious vitamin D and downtime.

Top Ten Tuesday-Anticipated releases for second half of 2025

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the Second Half of 2025. Yay, thank you Jana, for an easy topic this week 😁. I keep a list on Goodreads for 2025 book releases, so this should be fairly easy. The hard part will be narrowing it down, (and I ended up adding more to my list, LOL). Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

March Reading Wrap Up 2025

March was a mix of hard moments and fun moments. We had some sickness and I feel like I read more this month trying to relax from the stressful times. I read 25 books in March, but several were 2-stars so they won't be mentioned here. Click on the cover of the book if you are interested in reading my review.

Top Ten Tuesday-Books You'd be a fool not to read

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Books You’d be a Fool Not to Read (Happy April Fool’s Day! In honor of this silly holiday, share the books you think people must read for whatever reason. They could be your favorites, books you deem classics, books that you learned something important from, books you wish you’d read sooner, etc. You could even narrow it down to a specific genre and share the must-reads for that genre. Get creative!) I went back and found the last ten books that I gave five stars to to come up with my list. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Top Ten Books You'd Be A Fool Not To Read:

The Holly Series by C.C. Warrens remains one of my favorite suspense series! Perfect for those who do not enjoy romance in their stories. Holly has had a difficult life and is hiding from a stalker. My review of Criss Cross.

Stacking the Shelves #157, Sunday Post #154, Sunday Salon #148

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? Mine was hard and long. We got several updates on family members health that was not good, my sons lab work has quite a few abnormals, yet no word from his medical team, my husband's aunt went into hospice and passed yesterday, plus extra work. I had book club on Thursday and that went well. This morning is work and after that the plan is to go to Cleveland and see frozen Lake Erie. We'll go to Church tonight, and tomorrow will be a rest day.

Stacking the Shelves #155, Sunday Post #152, Sunday Salon #146

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? Mine was busy and long. My daughter ended up sick so I was teaching all the classes for our business. I ended up canceling Friday's classes because I was having dizzy spells and just didn't feel great. I am teaching this morning, and we are trying Saturday evening Church instead of Sunday morning, so we'll see how that goes, but that means we can stay in all day Sunday and rest and relax.

Rendezvous update 2

So, part two of the JustRead Rendezvous 2024 reader event. You can read part one here. After lunch was another reader panel. Kimberley Woodhouse was the moderator of this one. Each author had to pick one of their characters to be and only answer as that character. It was hilarious. Several authors on the panel were suspense writers, and a couple were fantasy. Sara Ella was one of the authors and I loved her answers. She was in character as Alice in Wonderland from her book The Wonderland Trials. While I had read several authors books who were on the different panels throughout the day, hearing all the authors talk and interact made me want to read their books, even though several are genres I don't read.

Top Ten Tuesday-Let's go hiking!

Happy Tuesday, my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is a Halloween Freebie. Saturday I went hiking with my husband and yesterday (Monday) I went hiking with my son. I thought it would be fun to do a post on books that have hiking in them. The problem is my memory! I know I read two books recently that had hiking in it and I only remember one of them. I also know there was one book in one of my favorite series, but of course I can't remember which book, LOL! So, what you are actually going to get are books that either have hiking in them, or are set in National parks so might have hiking in them 😂Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

So let's see what it actually looks like 😂. I read 15 books and DNF'd one. Click on the cover of the book if you are interested in the review.

Hidden in the Night

Title: Hidden in the Night

Series: Missing in Alaska #3

Author: Elizabeth Goddard

Publisher: Revell

Genre: Christian Fiction, Suspense,

Source: Revell

My Review:

Hidden in the Night is the third book in the Missing in Alaska series by Elizabeth Goddard. While threading them in order is most enjoyable, they can easily stand alone.

Hey bookish friends! How are you doing? It was a weird week with the holiday on Monday, a very full Tuesday, then traveling all day on Wednesday to North Carolina. Thursday and Friday were spent catching up with my in-laws, playing games of badminton, and kayaking on the lake.

November Reading Wrap Up 2023

November passed in a blur of work, travel, car troubles, and my son's ongoing recovery. I had some reading duds, but overall I think I had a decent reading month. I read 13 books (low for me) and DNFed 1. Click on the cover of the book if you are interested in the review.

Shadows At Dusk

Title: Shadows at Dusk

Series: Missing in Alaska #2

Author: Elizabeth Goddard

My Review:

Shadows at Dusk is the second book in Elizabeth Goddard's Missing in Alaska series. However, it can easily be read as a stand-alone novel.
