August Reading Wrap Up 2026

August was a blur. It was busy and I can't quite remember most of what I did, LOL. I did a lot of walking, so I finished more audiobooks than I normally would. I feel like I got a lot of reading in this month. So, lets see what I actually did. I finished 24 books, and I had one DNF and one 2-star read. Overall, I was disappointed in quite a few books that I read, which doesn't normally happen. This book had me simultaneously wanting to gobble it up while also trying to take it slow and savor it. Bookmarked For Love is the third and final book in the Checking Out Love series. The books can be read in any order.

Hey, my bookish friends!!  How are you all doing? I am doing okay. It was another long week with multiple appointments. Wednesday morning I had an appointment with the neurologist to discuss the results of my table tilt test. Despite me calling Tuesday and being told she had my results, she did not, which wasted 3 hours of mine and my husband's day. She said she would message me as soon as the results came in, but didn't. My results were there Wednesday afternoon and I am
still anxiously awaiting her to interrupt them for me. This Sunday is my birthday, so my daughter is here for the day. We are planning some family games and just hanging out, ordering dinner in. My boss gave me cash for my birthday and I spent a little time at Bath and Body Works yesterday, splurging! I will post a picture below of the candle I bought. If the weather cooperates (and the smoke from Canada clears) we will be out walking/hiking today and tomorrow morning.

I have never done a post like this before, probably because I rarely do preorders (money has always been tight). But, this year, there are a handful of books (7!) I can't wait to get my hands on, so I decided to do preorders. I love being able to support authors in this way, and trust me, I understand not everyone can. Cross Words by Chautona Havig releases 3/9/26 on Kindle, but it available in paperback now. My copy is supposed to arrive today. This is part of her Book Strings series, which I have loved. 

February Reading Wrap up 2026

My Review:

This is a great romance story. Not that everything was perfect, but I loved the build up for Haley and Levi. While I have seen some hyper critical reviews, this one checked the boxes for me.

December Reading Wrap Up 2025

November and December had me moving (literally), so I did not do a November reading wrap up. However, I did read 25 books (didn't know it was that many until just now, (4 were children's books) DNF'd 2. It looks like I had a record number of 5 star reads as well: 11!! Christmas Reading Challenges 2025

I know, I know, I said I was tired of challenges, and I am, BUT, hear me out. I am tired of the ones I am already working on, I'm not tired of Christmas yet 😂. I am going to read Christmas books anyway, I might as well support some fellow bloggers 😁. So, I am going to try to finish up my other challenges this month, so that I can clear the deck to read as many Christmas books as my heart desires. This year has been super hard and I am looking forward to the hope/happy feels that Christmas reads generally bring.

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? I am STILL sick, my guess is we had C*vid, which is my first time. I am slowly improving, but still coughing and congested. We have another open house on Sunday, hopefully something will come from it. Other than that, not much on the radar this weekend.
