Sunday Spotlight #3-Nor Forsake

Happy Sunday, friends! A few weeks ago I started doing a "Sunday Spotlight" where I highlight a book/author that deserves more love!  I take a book that I have read and enjoyed that has less than 100 reviews on Goodreads and give it some extra love by drawing it to your attention! Maybe someday I will host a link party (if I can figure it out) to make it easier to participate.

Title: Nor Forsake

Author: Julie Presley

Genre: Christian Fiction, Romance

Publisher: Presley Publishing

65 ratings and 52 reviews

My review:

(from 2016) I thought this book was brilliantly written. One of the things that intrigued me most was that it was a book written inside a book (not an entire book!). Julie Presley knows how to build believable characters and you really get sucked into the story. You start wondering what's going to happen and how it is all going to end. This book will have you laughing and crying. You will hate when it ends. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because it has some mild language in it, which I would not expect when reading a book marked "Christian Fiction." However, it wasn't completely out of place and added to the emotion of the characters at times, it is just a personal preference of this reader. I would totally recommend this book for anyone who likes to read.

Synopsis (from Goodreads):

Libby Abbott leads a seemingly charmed life: she works from a beautiful home in a rich neighborhood as an aspiring author and has a handsome and successful husband who supports her dreams. But behind closed doors are the suspicions of infidelity, failed pregnancies, a writing career that?s virtually non-existent, and a heart that is so far from God, she's not sure she knows the way back. When Libby?s short story and headshot land on the desk of literary agent, Jason Randall, he is intrigued by the grace with which she handles her characters and her stunning smile. He?s convinced that she?s his next best-selling author. Publishing is the last thing on Libby?s mind, but Jason?s eagerness to see her succeed pushes her in a direction she never thought she?d travel again ? towards the God of her youth, who dares her to embrace life amidst all of the chaos.
