Happy Tuesday, my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well.
Today's
Top Ten Tuesday
topic is 21st century books I think will become classics. This is an interesting topic and is going to require some brain power, LOL. Top Ten
Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today. Today's great topic was submitted by Lisa of Hopewell.
I headed over to Goodreads to make this list. I started with my favorites and only picked books that had over 10,000 ratings, in some cases over 100,000 😲
Ten + 21st century books I think will/could become classics:
NONFICTION EDITION:
Goodnight Moon is a great choice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lydia :)
DeleteI love that you included Goodnight Moon, I have so many good memories of reading it to my children. I have The Great Alone on my TBR, and need to get to it soon! Nice list, Cindy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy! I have read Goodnight Moon to a ton of children, mine included, I have it memorized, LOL!
DeleteWhat a good way to come up with your list! I just went through books I've read and tried to think of their popularity and whether I think multiple generations would enjoy it, lol. We have a couple in common--Twilight and Divergent.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
Hi Jenni, I enjoyed your list as well.
DeletePrinted Letter Bookshop has just been added to my TBR
ReplyDeleteYay, that's awesome!!
DeleteI think of Goodnight Moon as a classic already. ;D
ReplyDeleteLark, if not, it should be!!
DeleteI loved Twilight. We literally bought Goodnight Moon for my son a couple of weeks ago! It is a lovely book. I love the illustrations.
ReplyDeleteEmily @ Budget Tales Book Blog
Emily, I loved Twilight as well. Goodnight Moon is a classic in my house, I have read it to my kiddos, my foster kiddos, I read it in my classroom when I was a teacher...I have the book memorized :)
DeleteOh gosh, Frindle! I feel like that is a perfect children's classic. Great add!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer!
DeleteOh, yes, definitely Good Night, Moon!
ReplyDeleteDeb- Yes!
DeleteTwilight and Divergent- for sure! I like your list. The Penderwicks! I almost read those once they looked like good nostalgia- type reads, but didn't get to them. Goodnight Moon IS a classic! :)
ReplyDeleteGreg, thanks! We listened to the audio books of The Penderwicks and loved them, then bought the paperbacks, they are fun books.
DeleteTHE NIGHTINGALE is on my list today, but I think any of Hannah's epic novels would qualify as classics-in-the-making. I loved THE GREAT ALONE and THE FOUR WINDS, although THE NIGHTINGALE is still my favorite of Hannah's books.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Susan, I agree on Hannah's books. I have not read The Four Winds and can't remember if I read The Nightingale or not, LOL.
DeleteWhat an interesting post! I can see Good Night, Moon becoming a classic. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you and thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThe Penderwicks and Goodnight Moon are great ones! I think they will be classics as well. Nice list!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kami :)
DeleteI've only read "Book Love" from your list and I agree, that should become a classic. And I have heard of a few of the others that look great and I should read one day, I guess. That's what I love about the topic this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my TTT this week. As usual, I couldn't restrict myself but it still is a TTT (Top Twenty Tuesday).
Marianne, I also love this topic this week and have added books to my never ending TBR list :)
DeleteWow, I wrote a long comment and it didn't go through. It showed a cracked Blogger icon, whatever that means, sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'll just that I am obtaining a whole boatload of new to me titles from all different bloggers with this week's TTT! Thank you.
Oh no, so sorry your comment didn't go through! I love this topic and have added books to my TBR list as well :)
DeleteAgree on Redeeming Love!
ReplyDeleteSarita, especially now that there is a movie.
DeleteSuch fun choices! I love The Penderwicks and Katherine Reay novels. THanks for stopping by my ttt earlier too :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane!
DeleteThat Kristin Hannah book is such a great choice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzanne.
DeleteThis is such a great list! I actually totally agree that Twilight will be a classic.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracy!
DeleteI agree that Twilight will become a classic. I think it's the kind of book that parents will pass down to their teenage kids.
ReplyDeleteAj, true, both of mine have already read it :)
DeleteLOVE that one of Katherine's books is on your list! Also, I would agree, based on what I know about Francine's, her book could indeed become a classic. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rissi!
DeleteCindy, such a fun list! I love that you included Goodnight Moon. I love reading that with my kids! Also Cloudy with a chance of meatballs was a favorite when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteI love everything I've read by Katherine Reay -- but I haven't read that one yet. I will have to check it out!
Thanks, Jane :) The Printed Letter Bookshop is my favorite (so far) by Reay!
