Stacking the Shelf #29, Sunday Post #26, Sunday Salon #21

Hey bookish friends! How are things going for you? I am doing well, writing this week from Wisconsin. Today is our last day here and we will be attending a wedding this afternoon and will start the trek home tonight, tomorrow evening we will spend the night in KY and arrive home (NC) sometime Monday evening. We have gone through/visited 8 states (started NC, TN, KY, OH, IN, IL, MN, WI) and had a blast seeing a lot of cool things...hope to do that update soonish!

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

Bought

I bought The Selected Letters of Laura Ingalls Wilder at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Pepin, Wisconsin. It is signed by William Anderson which I thought was pretty cool.

I bought these 4 at a Thrift Store that was having an "everything's $1 sale." We bought five books, 2 men's dress shirts, another casual shirt and a board game for $3.87...so not really sure how much I paid for each book 😂

One of the joys of traveling is visiting Little Free Library's...I have lost count as to how many I have visited on this trip, but here are my finds (not counting the ones for other family members and ones I picked up for my library). I brought 2 full bags of books to donate to other libraries on this trip and have had fun doing that.

The top four books were not *technically* from a Free Little Library, we stopped at a grocery store in the middle of nowhereville and they had quite a few books for the taking, so I took these and dropped a handful for them. These were all BRAND new!! I was super surprised.

One of the things we did this week was The Lost Canyon tour, we were on a wagon being pulled by 2 horses through this canyon and YES, we made it through!! You wouldn't think we would. I had read two books recently that talked about canyons so I found a way on this trip to see one, it's one of my highlights 😀

Other updates:

I added 2 books to my Goodreads want to read shelf this week. I moved The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner from my "want" to read, to "own" to read. I also added 12 books to my own to read.

I finished 3 books this week, two were re-reads (one on audio).

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  4. What a great idea to stop at Little Libraries on a trip AND to be prepared to leave some as well. So smart!! Looks like a really good cross-section of books and all for bargains! Happy Reading and enjoy your trip.

  5. Wow a good haul. I didn't think we had Little Libraries here in the UK but I spotted one in a village near us (well a 30 min ish drive away). It's the only one I've ever come across, however our actual library is only a 15 min walk away and there are so many libraries near us that I'm not too upset!

I would love to do some travelling but we have a 3 year old so it may be a while yet!

    Have a great weekend!

  9. I love the idea of stopping at all the Little Free Libraries you run across. It's wonderful that you are prepared to add more to them, too.

How fun that you went on a lost canyon tour! Getting lost in a canyon would have been a bad experience in the past.

  11. I love that you buy stacks of books to donate to other free libraries. I am sure that the patron saint of books will forever smile on you kindly and always make sure that you find the best books in the little free libraries!

Endless Night is one of very few Agatha Christie books I haven't read yet...

Have a good week and safe travels home!
