Stacking the Shelves #35, Sunday Post #32, Sunday Salon #26

Hey bookish friends! How are things going for you? I had a very busy week and I am exhausted, so taking it easy this weekend. I am hoping to read and work on catching up on some blogging.

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

Other updates:

I added 6 books to my Goodreads shelf this week. I did a major clean-up and deleted 40 books from my Goodreads want to read shelves.

I finished 3 books this week (I thought it was more! 😕). I still need to post the review for 1 of them.

The top ten topic this past Tuesday was books set in places I would love to visit, which was a fabulous topic and it got me to thinking...which led me to starting a page tracking where the books I read take place. It is a very rough start, not up to date, and will be a work in progress, but I am excited about it 😂 If you would like to see it you can visit my page Around the World in Books

I almost forgot!! I was in TN last week any my sister gave me my birthday gifts, of course I love them!!!!:

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  1. It’s always a great feeling to clean up your TBR on Goodreads and really take a look at priority reads. Love the bookish gifts! Have a wonderful week ahead.

  2. I don't use Goodreads but rather Librarything instead. My use is a little different from yours but I don't know why I am only putting books I plan on reading ASAP on Librarything. I have a notebook to keep track of my many reading challenges and TBRs are listed there. I never realized that I was handling TBRs like this until reading your post. Thanks for the insight.

    1. Laura, I have heard of Library thing, but every time I look into it I decide to stick with Goodreads. I think it is whichever you start first.

  3. I do a monthly meme where each month we post about where our books have taken us. It is so interesting and I find that I travel further than I thought I did!

3 books a week is good. I am lucky if I make it 2. I need to do a clean up at some point but then look at the books and think maybe I still want to read them at some point!!!

    They are great birthday gifts!

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Emily, that is a cool meme! I narrowed down my books by looking them up on Amazon and then typing in scenes to see if they were in the book, or certain words, and if they were, I deleted them. For instance, seeing if there were "rape" scenes in a book.

  4. Deleting 40 books from your Goodreads want to read shelf and only adding 6 is awesome! Good for you. I've been trying to get my Goodreads want to read list down a bit this year, too. But it's so hard when new books that I want to read keep coming out! ;D

    1. Lark, thanks, it needed to be done. It is hard when new books come up, but I was able to narrow it down by taking some of the new to me authors off that had questionable content in the books (better explanation under Emily's comment).

  6. The thought of cleaning out my Goodreads Want To Read is terrifying... which is probably a good sign it needs doing. I don't think I've done it in over 10 years of using the site. gulp!

  10. Oh I love that blanket!!! So cool. Proud of your for not getting any new books. Adding to your TBR is not quite the same, so that's all good.

Happy reading this week and enjoy your blanky! We can do with it here, it's dreadfully cold....

    1. I bet you do love the blanket, LOL, she said she was looking for one that had a dog, but couldn't find one. I am enjoying the blanket, it is hot outside, but I like to sit under a blanket when I read :)

  11. What a fantastic reading blanket! Your sister knows what you like.

I've just gone through all my books and donated bags of them to a friend who is planning to open a bookshop. I figure if I decide to read one of them then I'll go to her shop and buy it from her!

    Have a lovely week, Cindy!
