My Review:
I bought Fit God's Way: Your Bible-Based Guide to Food, Fitness, & Wholeness on a whim this past summer. I was in Baker Bookhouse browsing, saw the book, and grabbed it and I am so glad I did!
One area that I feel is a constant struggle is my health and fitness. Can you relate? If so, I highly recommend this book. While it is saturated with Scripture, it is also a wealth of knowledge and tips to motivated you to stop dieting and start living your best, healthy life, while obtaining last results. The book is well-researched with the notes properly referenced in the back.
The premise of Fit God's Way is built around 7 habits. The first three are centered around God, which may not appeal to everyone but can easily be skimmed if this is not your cup of tea. They still have valuable information that is not about God but about dieting and fitness. Then there are the habits that will appeal to everyone, choose fit thoughts, eat to fuel your temple, make fitness holy, and press on-don't quit.
To be clear, this is not a dieting book. This is a book that encourages you to stop dieting and start maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Leto acknowledges that trying all the habits at once might be overwhelming, so start with a few, and as you build your confidence, add in more.
Leto is also not coming from a place of having it all together. She struggled with dieting and eating healthy, and the book is what she has learned over the years. She is a certified fitness instructor and nutrition specialist, sharing what she has learned.
I cannot recommend this book enough. I have tons of quotes highlighted, and parts of the book tabbed (I recommend having a physical copy), and already wish I had an accountability partner to walk through this process with.
