Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Non-book Freebie (Come up with a topic that’s not bookish! You could share something about yourself like your hobbies, things you collect, fandoms you’re a part of, things on your bucket list, places you’ve traveled, things you’re proud you’ve accomplished, challenges you’ve overcome, your favorite recipes/sports teams/foods/etc. Or you could go down the less personal route and share your ten most visited websites, your favorite trends in fashion right now, the TV shows you’re obsessed with, etc. Or just have your pet guest post and share their top ten favorite things! Anything goes.) Well, we'll just see together what this post ends up being, other than random. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.
Top Ten Tuesday-Random nonbookish stuff
- I have another blog called Encounters with the Davis Family-I have been blogging there since 2011
- When I was turning 43 I posted 43 Random Facts about me, you can read it if you are interested in knowing more about me.
- My nonbookish hobbies include: crochet, sewing, hiking, walking, junk journaling, playing board games, traveling, and exploring new places
- I have started two book clubs, the first one fell apart when I moved from NC, and the second one has been going strong since June 2023.
- A recent obsession of mine is with Bella Grace Magazines-they are so encouraging! She has several different types of magazines.
- I know several of you enjoy quilting and I have been meaning to share about this book: Quilting the National Parks.
- Fall is my favorite season. What's yours?
- I am currently reading Jane Eyre and it is taking me forever to get through
- We are planning a trip to NC for Thanksgiving to see my husband's family-the last three times we were supposed to go got canceled, so we are really hoping no one gets sick or anything to cancel it
Love it! That is a good idea. My favorite season is spring. I love that season. Have a good day. Here is my TTT.https://dmhoisington.wordpress.com/2025/10/14/top-ten-tuesday-5/
ReplyDeleteThanks Danyelle, I enjoy spring as well, it's my second favorite season ;)
DeleteQuilting is a hobby that I find fascinating! I don’t have the money to get into it, but I love seeing how creative people can be with their designs.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Astilbe, I understand. I do find a lot of quilting garage sales and that really helps :)
DeleteI didn’t know you had another blog. Cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lydia!
DeleteSpring is my favourite season, I love all the exciting vibes and new life that comes with it.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my TTT post

Rosie, spring is my second favorite season :)
DeleteQuilting the National Parks. Super fun. I don't quilt but I'd love to look through it.
ReplyDeleteAnne, I think it would be a neat book!
DeleteJane Eyre took me quite a while to work through, too. I ended up liking it a lot though, I hope you find it worthwhile in the end!
ReplyDeleteFall is probably my favorite season as well, though I'm happy with anything except summer.
Jana, I hear the ending is great, so I keep going. It's not a terrible book, just dense.
DeleteA local craft store has a quilt museum where they share a variety of quilts that were made by local artists for a variety of reasons. I'm always so impressed with the talent and the beauty displayed with the quilts.

Pam, quilts are wonderful to look at and see all the hard work that has gone into it.
DeleteHi, Cindy. My favorite season is summer! And this rainy, overcast weather in Idaho and I do not get along well. Andi
ReplyDeleteAndi, I completely understand not getting along with overcast dreary weather!
DeleteLast weekend, it was rainy and overcast in Washington. I did not like it. Today, it is sunny and cold. Which makes me happy.
DeleteI will take sunny and cold over rainy and overcast any day!
DeleteJane Eyre took me a very long time to read too. I read it on a two-week-long camping trip. I spent a lot of hours with it because there was nothing else to do.
ReplyDeleteAj, sounds like the perfect time to have read it!
DeleteMy favourite season is also fall/autumn but.....for very different reasons I think, lol. It's just summer but less heat.
ReplyDeleteBree, I understand!
DeleteGreat post. My favorite season is autumn, but I also like spring.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, same, they are my favorite.
DeleteI see junk journaling on Instagram and it seems like it would be fun. I used to scrapbook years ago but haven't in forever. I do like playing games though! :) Thanks for visiting my list today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rissi!
DeleteSo fun! I love autumn, too, but we don't get much of one here in Utah. I feel like it goes from summer heat to winter cold with only a few days of autumn in between. And I love hiking and playing board games, too. :D
ReplyDeleteLark, the seasons are weird here in Ohio as well!
DeleteThis is such a fun idea, it's always nice to learn some non-bookish facts about our fellow bloggers :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsey, I agree!
DeleteI had no idea what to write for this topic, you gave me so many. Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteYou asked "Fall is my favorite season. What's yours?" Yes, that would be mine, as well, even though we call it autumn. LOL
I always say, I think we like the season best when we are born. My birthday was in September.
Marianne, I was born in July, but Autumn and Spring are my favorites! Mainly because it's not extremely hot or cold.
DeleteFall is my favorite season as well. I love the coziness of it and the changing leaves. I love that it is moving into winter which is a season where I have more excuses not to leave the house and just enjoy reading books and watching movies!
ReplyDeleteLisa, LOL, I also look for excuses not to leave in the winter!
DeleteI love this, Cindy. The next time it is a non-bookish post, I will post random facts about myself and my family. Summer is my favourite season. I love the pool and getting into exercise and socialize. I do enjoy fall for it's cooler temperatures and colours.
ReplyDeleteCarla, I do love swimming as well, but don't have regular access to a pool. I hope you are able to squeeze summer in for a few more days this year ;)
DeleteI love that you did this too! I went over to your post with the 43 random facts about you; such a funny story about falling into the toilet, I'm LOLing at the image of your head and feet sticking out of the toilet! 😂
ReplyDeleteHaze, I live to make people laugh, LOL! Thank you for reading about my experiences :)
DeleteHaha! It's okay. We all have trouble refraining from slipping in a bookish thing or two.
ReplyDeleteAnd fall is also my favorite season.
Deb, for sure, we need our bookish conversations :)
DeleteMy favorite season is winter - I am a Minnesota girl through and through!
ReplyDeleteSarah, love it! The snow is gorgeous!
