An Unlikely Pair

An Unlikely Pair (Dream's Edge, #1)

Title: An Unlikely Pair

Series: Dream's Edge #1

Author: Traci Hunter Abramson

Publisher: Covenant Communications

Genre: Fiction/Clean Romance

My Review:

I was immediately drawn to this book by the beautiful cover. When I have had the opportunity to watch the Olympics, I always enjoyed watching pairs skating. It always amazed me what people could do on the ice, as in stuff I couldn't even do on dry land!

An Unlikely Pair grabs your attention from the first page and keeps you captivated to the very end. The biggest disappointment was turning the page and realizing I had finished the book!

"She didn't know which dreams would take her into the future anymore, dreams beyond seeing her parents walk again."

This book is beautifully crafted. It is poignant and sweet. The characters are lovable, have depth, are engaging, and have strong morals. In the midst of adversity, instead of focusing on the problems, they pull themselves up and focus on the positives. It is not easy, but it is well-done and so refreshing!

"'And your mother,' Linda said, her voice wistful. 'This is a chance to take the best of what both of them gave you and see what you can become.'"

This book is written from multiple points of view, which just enhances the story. You connect with each character, you feel the emotions, and you are invested in the story. I had a difficult time putting it down to get anything else done. I was not ready for it to end, but it ends in a good place.

There was nothing to dislike about this book (except that it ended and the next book does not come out until February 2022). I had never read anything by Traci Hunter Abramson before, but I suddenly wish I had time to binge read all her other books (45!!). I love that she writes across multiple genres and look forward to reading more from her.

This book is a clean romance. It is suitable for teenagers as well as adults. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves clean, sweet romances. It is worth every second and you will not want it to end.

I received an advance copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a favorable review, but am delighted to be able to do so. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Synopsis:

After a family tragedy, aspiring ballerina Amaliya Marcell is adrift. When she is forced to leave behind everything she knows, the lost young woman struggles to build a new life in an unfamiliar city. But when she meets a handsome world-class figure skater, she finds a glimmer of hope.

After his sister’s unexpected retirement from figure skating, Tyler Linden is devastated to give up his shot at the US national championships. His only hope is to find a new partner, a task that proves nearly impossible—until he observes a beautiful young woman at the local ice rink.

Struck by her grace and poise, Tyler takes an unthinkable risk and asks Amaliya to become his new partner. To both of their surprise, she agrees. The path to the championship won’t be easy, but Amaliya and Tyler quickly establish a solid partnership and a profound connection—both on and off the ice. But competition at the championships is fierce, and when the time comes, they will be forced to put everything on the line if they hope to achieve their dreams.
