Can't Wait Wednesday-Left at the Altar

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Typically they are books that have not been released yet. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.

This is my second week participating in Can't Wait Wednesday. Since I have about a million books that I am waiting to read, this week I am choosing one that has been on my TBR list for almost a year! It's Left at the Altar by Margaret Brownley.

I don't know what it is, but there is something about movies and books where someone is left at the altar that seems funny to me. I guess in a way I picture Rachel from Friends going into Central Perk in her wedding dress!

I am leaving on a trip today by myself and decided to get smart and try to get an audio book! It is so rare that I am ever by myself I figured it would be a good time to try the audible narration from Amazon. Wish me luck as I will be listening to this one later today and hopefully it will be interesting and funny enough to keep me awake!!!

 About the book:

Welcome to Two-Time Texas:
Where tempers burn hot
Love runs deep
And a single marriage can unite a feuding town
...or tear it apart for good
In the wild and untamed West, time is set by the local jeweler...but Two-Time Texas has two: two feuding jewelers and two wildly conflicting time zones. Meg Lockwood's marriage was supposed to unite the families and finally bring peace. But when she's left at the altar by her no-good fiance, Meg's dreams of dragging her quarrelsome neighbors into a ceasefire are dashed.
No wedding bells? No one-time town.
Hired to defend the groom against a breach of promise lawsuit, Grant Garrison quickly realizes that the only thing worse than small-town trouble is falling for the jilted bride. But there's something about Meg's sweet smile and determined grit that draws him in...even as the whole crazy town seems set on keeping them apart.
Who knew being Left at the Altar could be such sweet, clean, madcap fun?

  2. When I saw this I thought of the movie Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts. But, that's the guy left at the alter! I also like books where someone is left at the alter, as it's such an emotional day, and causes such trouble.
