My review:
This book caught my attention from the very beginning. There is plenty of action and little to no romance. Some parts were predictable and a few even unrealistic, but overall a good story. While this is a Christian fiction book there is little mention of God and faith. The character development of Madison and Jonas is well done. You really get a feel for them. I enjoyed getting a glimpse into what a US marshal does. The story leaves you hanging a bit so you are ready for book two.
I am not sure if I did not enjoy this as much as I had hoped because it was an audiobook or if it was just not as thrilling as I had anticipated. Regardless, I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good suspense story.
★★★/5
Synopsis:
US Marshals Madison
James and Jonas Quinn are thrust into a high-profile case when they are
called on to transport two prisoners across the country on a private
plane. But when the plane experiences engine trouble en route from the
Pacific Northwest to Colorado, the pilots crash-land the aircraft deep
in the heart of the sprawling Salmon-Challis National Forest.
When
Madison and Jonas regain consciousness, they find both pilots and one
prisoner dead--and one fugitive on the run. They'll have to negotiate
the rugged and remote backcountry through Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado
while tracking a murderer who is desperate to disappear--and will do
anything to stop them.
This high-octane game of cat-and-mouse
from bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris will have your
heart pumping as you try to catch a fugitive with nothing to lose.
Good point. I never know if I enjoy a book more or less than the audiobook? I recently listened to an audiobook and the narration was so good that I thought I probably enjoyed the book more as an audiobook than I would as a paper book. And vice versa.
ReplyDeleteI get it. I will be "reading" two more on audio book as we travel over the next few days, so will see how it goes. I love the idea though because I can knock some books off my list this way and start catching up!!
