"Why are those dogs barking?" I pointed across the wooden picnic table toward two obviously upset canines yelping nearby.

From the first line, I was drawn into this story. While it seems innocent enough, dogs barking, it turns out to be a significant part of the story. The most unexpected part of this entire story was the humor that Darby gives to each scenario, whether in her spoken words or her thoughts.  I was snickering within the first few pages and had several laugh-out-loud moments. 

I found this book to be fast-paced, incredibly well-written, and I couldn't put it down. There is a lot of mystery, intrigue, twists and turns, and a maniac killer on the loose. This one kept me guessing to the end, which I loved. I do not enjoy books as much when it is easy to figure out who the bad guy is. I would not recommend this to the faint of heart as there is more than enough death, some that will keep you reeling from the shock of it.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great who-done-it novel, that is fast-paced, a quick read, and includes a satisfying ending.
