My Review:

This was a super cute and fun book. When it started out I thought it was going to be pretty serious. While it definitely had it's serious moments, overall it was a light-hearted, easy read, or in this case "listen." I loved the dialogue, the humor, the story line. I really appreciated that natural way that Hannah and J. T. prayed and the strong faith element that was weaved into the story. I also loved the narrator! She did an excellent job with the voices.

The character development was great, with a wide variety of colorful characters. I loved both Hannah and J. T. with their strong personalities. J. T. won me over with his caring attention to all those around him, but not wanting credit for what he was doing. I really appreciated the children in the story and the fun they added.

This story kept me grinning most of it and I did not find anything that I did not like!

★★★★/5

Synopsis (from Goodreads):

Jericho "J.T." Tucker wants nothing to do with Coventry, Texas's new dressmaker. He's all too familiar with her kind--shallow women more devoted to fashion than true beauty. Yet, except for her well-tailored clothing, this seamstress is not at all what he expected.

Hannah Richards is confounded by the man who runs the livery. The unsmiling fellow riles her with his arrogant assumptions and gruff manner while at the same time stirring her heart with unexpected acts of kindness. Which side of Jericho Tucker reflects the real man?

When Hannah decides to help Jericho's sister catch a beau--leading to uproarious consequences for the whole town--will Jericho and Hannah find a way to bridge the gap between them?

  1. I've read a couple of Witemeyer's books and really enjoyed them, and I think it's because of the humor in them. Laughter and romance makes for a good combination. :)
