My Review:
This is exactly what Christians today need to experience: to come in front of that burning bush and discover their identity from God's perspective.
I love reading A. W. Tozer's writing. His books are always deep and thought-provoking. As a bonus, I always learn something. This book was no exception.
The kind of revival we need today is a revival of reverence and sacredness in the presence of God.
Drawing from the story of Moses, Tozer walks us through Moses' account of the burning bush, teaching lessons along the way. Tozer does not sugar coat things and tells us exactly how it is. His main goal was to lead people into the presence of God so they could encounter God face-to-face. This book stepped on my toes, taught me more about God, and more about myself as well.
The world has hidden God from our sight and secularism has taken over. We have secularized worship, the gospel, and even Christ. I say that it's a great and tragic loss, and no great man can come out of that thing.
I have a broader understanding of Moses' story and what it means to be in the fire of God's presence. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand God better and draw closer to Him. While this book could be read quickly, it is best to take your time and think through the concepts that Tozer is presenting.

Synopsis:
Many people believe in
God and believe that God is everywhere, but they have yet to experience
his presence. What did it mean for Moses to encounter God at the burning
bush? How did it change his life and his perception of God? What is
keeping you from experiencing his presence in your life?
It was
in that burning bush experience that Moses began to understand and
appreciate the sacredness of worship. Through this book, Tozer teaches
how proper worship has to be equal to the one we are worshiping, so if
we are worshiping God, we must do it on his terms. This means having a
spirit of reverence and holiness--like Moses taking off his shoes and
kneeling before him.
The bush's fire did not frighten Moses, but
rather it poured the essence of sacredness into his life, giving him an
experience he had never had before. Let this book teach you how, like
Moses, to kneel and worship before God's holy fire.
Sounds like a fabulous read.
