Stacking the Shelves #14, Sunday Post #11, Sunday Salon #6

Hey bookish friends! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend. I am headed to a Bible Quiz meet today, it's something my kiddos have participated in for years and it's my sons last one (my daughter finished 2 years ago). What are your plans for the weekend?

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

Net Galley:

I requested one book this week, we will see if I get it 😉 Update, approved:

Library:

No new books I decided to do a "no library month."

Kindle Freebies:

Bought at the Library booksale:

Book at a used bookstore:

I added 34 books to my Goodreads shelf AGAIN this week!!!! Maybe I need to stop visiting your all's posts, LOL, I am constantly finding new books I want to read 😂 It's too many to post here 😉

I am not quite sure what I did this week but I only finished 3 books.

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  1. I get a lot of books from NetGalley, but sadly I have a hard time reading them all. And library books grab my attention too. Happy reading!

    1. Harvee, I slowed WAAAAAAAAY down on requests because last year I felt like ALL the books I were reading were only for reviews, which is fine, but it left no room for me to change my mind. Once I request a book I feel like I *have* to review it. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. This weekend - sharing in a house blessing tonight, worship with our church family tomorrow, long walk/hike tomorrow afternoon, fit in some writing and reading time as well. Enjoy your weekend.

  3. Hope you have a good week ahead. I actually had borrowed Tending Roses a while back and then didn't get the chance to read it. I like Wingate's books, so maybe I'll give that a try.

    1. Thanks Greg, my son's team got 3rd place, it was a fun/exhausting day. We will just continue to blame other people for our struggling TBR's, right?!

  5. No library books? 😥😥 I'm sad for you Cindy.

Have an awesome week of reading and a relaxing weekend!📚🤗💜

    1. Susan, don't be sad for me, it's a choice :) I NEED to read some of my OWN books...I keep adding more and need to read them. I am going to run out of shelf space very soon.

    2. I'm in the same situation Cindy! I've only read two of my own physical books so far this year! I have four six shelf book cases over flowing and still go to the library!🤦💜

    3. I am doing a reading challenge that I will read 48 (I think) and really want to hit that goal. Fortunately or unfortunately they seem to be coming in faster than I am reading them, LOL.

  6. I am curious to hear how your no library month goes. That is a great idea. I tend to buy books and put them on the shelf and then go to the library and get books to read 🙄. I have cut way back on book buying because of that. But, I may have to try a no library month.

Hope the Bible Quiz goes well. Have a good weekend!

    1. Gretchen, so far the no library month is a little hard, LOL. I got a notification on Friday that a book I request the library to get months ago has finally come in and is on hold for me. I will not be able to get it, LOL, and will have to put it back on the shelf. Plus, I have been to the library several times to grab books for my son, next thing I know I am browsing for me too...but I am SURE it will be worth it in the end :)

  7. Unlike most of the people who blog about books, I usually read only one at a time, and keep at it until I finish or give up. Good luck with the no-library week.

    1. Mae, I used to only read one at a time, but these days I am usually in 3, 1 fiction, 1 nonfiction, and then an audio book. But, the audio book cannot be really similar to the fiction book I am reading so that I can keep them straight.

  8. How interesting - a no library month! I may have to try that as I can't leave without at least one or two books! I’m trying so hard not to add books to my TBR, but how can I resist adding The Lost Book of Eleanor Dare, Tending Roses and Lead Me Home? 😊I find myself adding increasingly more books than I’ll ever read. 😊I can relate to your feelings about reading book blogs, but then if I didn't, I would miss you all!

    1. EXACTLY! I LOVE the blogging community. I also saw the new releases for Christian fiction coming this fall and I added at least 10 books from that to my TBR :) While we will probably not ever read all the books on our TBR, at least we know we will always have lots of wonderful options to choose from!

  9. Ha Ha! I do the same thing. I love reading everyone's posts, but it doesn't help my already too long TBR.

I hope you get the book you requested. I love the cover.

  10. I have a 500 max books on my TBR. Every couple of months I have to let a few go, but at the moment it's at 467. So I'm okay for now!

I hope you've enjoyed the Bible Quiz, that can be fun.

Have a good week and happy reading!

    1. Elza, 500 is a great number, does it include your physical shelves, and want to read shelves, and any Kindle owned books as well? If so, I am waaaaaaay over that number. I have 548 that I want to read (not counting owned books)...and it just recently went over 500, I would love to get it down.

  11. I'm always constantly adding books from other bloggers too. My TBR is over 1300 books, lol.

I hope you have fun at the Bible Quiz with your son. It sounds like fun and reminds me of when I was in seminary in high school.

    1. Thanks Jenni, it was a good day. If I count books on my bookshelves, Kindle, and just others I want to read I am over 1300 books...and trying to get it down, sigh.

  13. I finally went through my review requests this week and so I added a HUGE amount of books. I am quite careful to not take something if I can't put it on my schedule around its release date. I want to read more!

  15. Instead of adding the books I'd like to read to a Goodreads wish list, I add them to an Amazon list. That way I don't have to go back and edit the Goodreads list. It just sits on Amazon until I find a copy.

The Lost Book of Eleanor Dare looks promising. Anything with "book" in the title!

    1. Hmm, I will give that idea some thought...I do like having them all in one place, but it can seem overwhelming at times.

I haven't read any, but your list brings to mind Two Days Gone, an excellent mystery by Randall Silvis:
