Happy Friday, my bookish friends!
Any
plans for the weekend? I am planning to go slow and easy today. I can't tell if my allergies are out of control or if I am getting a sinus infection or something. I have no plans for tomorrow, Church and a baby-sitting job on Sunday.
Welcome back to First Line Friday hosted by Carrie at Reading is My SuperPower!! I am also linking up with Gilion on Rose City Reader for Book Beginnings. This is where you share the beginning of the book that you are reading. To join in the fun grab the book you are reading and leave a comment with the first line (or your link). This week I am reading The Chase by Lisa Harris. It is the third book in the US Marshals series.
He'd lied to her again.
Book Beginnings:
He'd lied to her again.
It was her fault for believing him in the first place. For trusting the slew of promises he never kept. He told her he loved her.
About the book (from Goodreads):
After a harrowing
attempt on a judge's life at the courthouse, Deputy US Marshals Madison
James and Jonas Quinn are tasked with finding a missing woman and an
endangered child in connection to the murder of the judge's wife. What
seems like a fairly straightforward case becomes hopelessly tangled when
the marshals discover that the woman they are searching for is in
witness protection and the Amber Alert put out for the missing child has
put two lives in danger.
Madison and Jonas are forced into a
race to find the woman and the child before the men who want her dead
discover her location. And in a final showdown that could cost her
everything, Madison will come face-to-face with the person who murdered
her husband.
USA Today bestselling author Lisa Harris concludes
her thrilling US Marshals series with this breathless tale of secrets
kept, lies exposed, and ultimately, justice prevailing.
Your
turn! Grab the current book you are reading and post the first line in

Thank you all for coming by each week, I REALLY appreciate the support

“Death has no sting.”
He studied the pastor speaking from the stage, a giant cross hanging behind him and smirked. Depends on how you kill someone.
