My Review:

Sadly, this is the third and final book of the American Heiresses series. It is hard to say, but I think this is my favorite one of the series. Before I get into the details, I want to take a moment to acknowledge Andrea Emmes, the narrator. She does a fabulous job! She has narrated several of Turano's books and is very professional in her delivery.  She does not add emotion and feelings that are not in the book. The more I listen to other narrators, the more I appreciate Andrea's delivery.

Onto the details. Beatrix Waterbury is spunky and independent. At times, much to her detriment. She often finds herself in trouble, mostly due to her mouth. She is not your typical heroine, and I found her antics hilarious, especially when you add in Norman and Theodosia.

Norman is completely adorkable! He's the nerdy, annoying scientist at the beginning. However, he quickly grows on you, and his character has wonderful growth throughout the story. He tries hard to be something he is not and learns from that.

Theodosia is Norman's right-hand man (er, girl) and deserves her own book/story! When she and Norman set out to learn more about a particular topic (no spoilers), things really get interesting.

I think this is the funniest Turano book I have read, and that is saying a lot. I find them all amusing, but I laughed so much more with this one. While I was sad to see the book and series end, there are still 14 of her books that I haven't read 😀

★★★★★/5

 Synopsis (from Goodreads):

When Beatrix Waterbury's train is disrupted by a heist, scientist Norman Nesbit comes to her aid. After another encounter, he is swept up in the havoc she always seems to attract--including the attention of the men trying to steal his research--and they'll soon discover the curious way feelings can grow between two very different people in the midst of chaos.

  2. I'm glad you enjoyed this book so much. I put the first book on my TBR from your other review. I don't listen to many audiobooks but when I do, I always appreciate a good narrator.

    1. Jenni, I didn't really listen to audio books until last summer, traveling a lot by myself, then trying to do the 75 Hard Challenge, the audio books kept me walking :)

  4. Nice review, Cindy. I have Jen Turano on my "Top Ten Authors I Haven’t Read, But Want To" list scheduled for next week. Once I catch up with my NetGalley reviews, I will read one of her books. (or 2 or more)
