A Penny for Your Thoughts

Title: A Penny For Your Thoughts

Series: The Million Dollar Mysteries

Author: Mindy Starns Clark

Publisher: Harvest House Publishers

Genre: Christian Fiction, Mystery

Source: Own

My Review:

As one who does not enjoy cozy mysteries, take my review of A Penny for Your Thoughts with a grain of salt. I keep trying cozy mysteries and hoping for a better result. I did finish this one, so there is that.

The beginning was slow and the story dragged. It could easily have been cut without messing with the integrity of the plot. I knew immediately who two of the bad guys were, which made it harder to appreciate the rest of the story. There was a twist at the end, but I also was not satisfied with the ending.

Overall, a decent story, but I don't know that I will read further in the series, even though I own all the books. Nothing is pulling me in that direction.

★★★/5

  1. Love your honesty, we need to do this as book reviewers or we aren't really reviewing! I only read historical cozies and I love those. The modern day ones just don't interest me. I really had no idea there was a whole sub genre for Christian ones too. Thanks for sharing your opinions!

    1. Shellie, I prefer suspense over the cozies. I have tried SO many, and overall, I rarely enjoy them.
