Save the Date

Title: Save the Date

Author: Jenny B. Jones

Narrator: Natalie Duke

Publisher: Thomas Nelson

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Christian Fiction

Source: Hoopla

My Review:

I own several books by Jenny B. Jones on Kindle, and I can't believe this is the first time I have read one of her books. Save the Date is a fabulous introduction to this author, and I enjoyed the narration by Natalie Duke.

I love Lucy and her heart for the girls who have aged out of the foster care system. Her non-profit has room for twelve girls, and when a major donor pulls funding, Lucy freaks out. While she does not handle the situation in a good way, you can understand her desperation. I was like girl, chill.

This story brought out all the emotions. I laughed, I almost cried (I was driving, couldn't give in to the emotion), and I got chills. There is so much heart and depth to this story.

The side characters, especially Julian and Clare, added so much to the story. I loved listening to this story and want more stories like this one. Happy sigh.

★★★★★/5

Synopsis (Amazon):

You are cordially invited to the wedding of the year with the most unlikely bride and groom. Save the date . . . and say your prayers.

When the funding for Lucy's non-profit job is pulled, she is determined to find out why. Enter Alex Sinclair, former professional football star and heir to Sinclair Enterprises—the primary donor to Lucy's non-profit organization.

Both Lucy and Alex have something the other desperately wants.

Alex has it all . . . except for the votes he needs to win his bid for Congress. Despite their mutual dislike, Alex makes Lucy a proposition: pose as his fiancée in return for the money she desperately needs. Bound to a man who isn't quite what he seems, Lucy finds her heart—and her future—on the line.

Save the Date is a spunky romance that will have readers laughing out loud as this dubious pair try to save their careers, their dreams . . . and maybe even a date.

  2. I read this one YEARS ago and remember it being a prime "me" read at the time. Sometimes books like this are ones I'd love to reread and then I get "scared" that my memory will be tarnished. ;) Still I think I'd still enjoy this one.
