Stacking the Shelves #9/Sunday Post #6

Hey bookish friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. I am struggling with a few things today and it has increased my depression, so I am going to try to do things today that are relaxing 😁 What are your plans for the weekend?

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

NetGalley:

No new books, 1 pending request.

Library:

We are not going to talk about how I still have 10 other library books checked out that I am hoping to get to 🤦

For Review:

So, surprisingly, I am still talking about the book exchange, where you send one book and could get up to 36 back. In the last few weeks I have received 11 books and got another one this week, bringing my total up to 12! 😁 It's been the gift that keeps on giving! I do not expect any more.

I added 12 books to my Goodreads shelf this week! It's too many to post here 😉

I finished 5 books this week and have started 2 more (1 fiction,1 non-fiction). I am still working on some of the reviews.

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  1. Looks like some good reading ahead of you. The Tozer book looks interesting.

Sorry you are struggling. February often does that to me - it is cold and dark and I am sick of winter. The sunny days really help lift my spirits. I am also planning a relaxing weekend. I hope your relaxing weekend helps lift your spirits!

  2. I hope that your relaxing weekend works at helping your depression. The best thing about February is how short it is.

    1. Janette, February doesn't usually bother me. I need to keep in mind that February is shorter for my reading goals, LOL! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

  6. Your book exchange really had great results. I hope you will let us all know when you do another one.

I think it's great that you have ten books to pick from. I feel like I'm previewing books for others when I check out a lot from the library!

    1. Deb, I have been pleasantly surprised by the results of the book exchange. We used to check out so many more books from the library, but here lately we just never seem to finish them before we have to take them back. I need to schedule more reading time in or something ;)

  7. I'm trying to figure out how you send out one book and could potentially get 36 back!

    1. You post on your Facebook page and friends sign-up to send a book. Then they post on their Facebook page and depending on how many of their friends sign up and *follow through* will depend on how many books you get. I had 9 friends sign up, 3 never posted on their pages and one dropped out. So I had 5 follow through, and then each of them had people sign up. If all of them had followed through I would have had more than 12 books. One of my friends posted on her FB page and another one of her "friends" said it was a scam so she got no participation. She sent a book and didn't receive any in return.

  8. The book exchange sounds like a fun thing to do! But it also sounds like the chain letter thing, and those never work for me. I love the cover of Crowned with Glory, it is so beautiful! Enjoy your new books!

    1. Lisa, it is very similar to the chain letter things (which I don't do), but for me, it had good results. I don't know how it worked out for my other friends who participated. One of them is here in the states but her books were sent to Kenya (where she is posted), so she will figure it out when she goes back next week.

  11. I'm sorry you're dealing with depression. Depression is hard. I hope you find some things that help you feel better soon. I've been dealing with depression for many, many years. Thankfully, I found a program last March that has been a miracle cure. It was an answer to my husband's and my prayers.

    1. Jenni, I also struggle with depression. It IS hard, not only for the one struggling but for our family members as well. I know somethings that triggered this bad episode and I am trying to fix them. Some I might not be able to, we'll see.

  15. I sympathize about the pile of library books; I'm in the same boat, albeit with slightly fewer books. And I'm sorry your depression is making things tough on you right now. Take care of yourself, and do things that help lift you up, if you can.
