Stacking the Shelves #19, Sunday Post #16, Sunday Salon #11

Hey bookish friends! How are things going for you? I am fighting off a cold so I am taking it easy today. What are your plans for the weekend?

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

NetGalley:

No new books.

Library:

My next two Book club books. Little Fires Everywhere is for May, Anxious People is for June.

Kindle Freebies:

None.

I am intentionally trying NOT to add to my shelves, focusing on catching up on ARC's and reading my OWN books (with the exception of my book club). I added 5 books to my Goodreads shelf this week.

I finished 7 books this week. Several of them I had been reading on for a week or so. I still need to write/share the reviews for 3 of them.

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  1. Good luck with catching up with your ARCs. I'm trying to read mine before they are published and I have two that I have to read before May 3rd.

  3. I remember thinking Little Fires Everywhere sounded really good. Lots of good buzz for that one.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  4. I'm trying not to add too much to my shelves. I keep seeing new books that I want from the library or blog tours so I'm not doing overly well 🤣😂

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Too bad about your cold-- hope you feel better soon! I have backed away from NetGalley this week because I suddenly got approved for a couple of books that archive soon and I didn't plan on getting any for another month, oh well!

I read Little Fires Everywhere about a year ago and enjoyed it. And I've read Backman but not this one, though many bloggers love all his books, so maybe I'd read it. Have you read either before? I wish I had an in-person book club. My library's one doesn't have many members and they only read true literary books that aren't for me. Have a great week ahead!

    1. Mia, I have not read either book or author before. I did not have a book club so I started one in my neighborhood. Right now 3 of us meet once a month, but at least one more is planning to join us next month, and we have 2 who are lurking on the Facebook page who may join us.

  7. Sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun catching up on your reading! :)

I haven't read either of those books yet, although I did read Backman's A Man Called Ove.

  9. I am always trying to add more books to my tbr list. You can never have too many books in my opinion. Hope you have a great week!

    1. I agree, never too many books on the TBR list, but I think you can have too many on your physical shelves, LOL.

  10. Hi Cindy!

Oe oe oe!! I will definitely recommend both Little Fires and Anxious People. Loved both of those!!

I went a bit overboard this week and got 3 books on the Amazon free books and 2 new ones for reviews. I always say I'm not going to buy new ones or take new reviews and first finish all the books I have. I'm not very successful unfortunately.

    Have a good week Cindy!

  11. Ugh, no fun with the cold! Hope you're getting over it quickly! I try to skip freebies, but with them being e-books, it's like out of sight out of mind and they're free! Plus I think some of my favorite authors now I found through those freebies about 8 years or so ago, and it makes me not want to give up. Even though I don't seem to ever go read the freebies half the time these days. lol. Have a great week and thanks for visiting Lisa Loves Literature earlier!

    1. Lisa, that's the problem, out of sight, out of mind. I did start a Goodreads list for them to help me know what I have...so anything I got in the last year and a half is there...before that is sporadic.

  12. Good luck with not adding new books. I am TERRIBLE about that.

  13. I hope you are feeling better. I try not to add any new books to my list, but I can't seem to help myself. I do need to catch up though. I hope you have a great week!

  14. You had a good finishing books week. I hope you feel better. I'm keeping up with my ARCs and reading some freebies, books I own and library books. It's a lot of reading but I mix genres up so I don't seem to ever slump. Happy reading!

    1. I like a lot of reading and mixing up on genres. I am just feeling a little guilty about how many books I own and want to read while prioritizing others. I am trying to shift my perspective for a few months and focus more on what I own.

  15. My book club read both Little Fires Everywhere and Anxious People. They both made for great discussions. I hope you enjoy both books, especially Anxious People. It's my favorite read so far this year! :) Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  16. I’m staying away from Kindle freebies right now until I get caught up on reading what I have. I am trying to get caught up on everything after being out of the country for almost a month. Sadly my computer went belly up there, so I’m trying to blog on my iPad! Deb Nance at Readerbuzz
