My Review:
It Is Any Wonder is the second book in the Nantucket Love Story and can be read as a stand-alone novel. I read the first book quite a while ago, and don't remember many details, but I read this one up without feeling like I was missing something.
Before reading Is It Any Wonder, you need to get prepared. First, grab your favorite drink and a pack of tissues. Next, find a cozy spot and settle in. This book is going to run you through all the emotions. While it might seem like your everyday run-of-the-mill love story at first, it actually has so many layers you wonder if you will ever know everything.
Is It Any Wonder is a story of second chances, love, forgiveness, and redemption. The characters are lovable, relatable, and flawed.
In case you have not figured it out yet, this is another book that I am having a hard time reviewing. I loved it, and I hope you will too!

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Can a promise made as kids bring them back
together as adults? In this Nantucket-set beach read, “master of the
genre” (Midwest Book Review) Courtney Walsh delivers a sparkling
inspirational romance about first love and second chances.
Twelve
years ago, Cody Boggs and Louisa Chambers made a pact that no matter
where their lives took them, they’d return to Nantucket Island’s Brant
Point Lighthouse on July 30, their shared golden birthday, and continue
their tradition of exchanging birthday wishes. But that was before a
tragic accident upended both of their lives, irrevocably pulling them
apart.
Their worlds collide just months before that particular
day when Louisa’s fledgling event planning company is hired by the local
Coast Guard station, where she discovers Cody has recently returned to
the island as the second in command. As they plan a regatta fundraiser,
hoping to promote positive PR in the community, neither can deny the
fireworks each encounter ignites. But working together also brings up
memories of the day Cody’s father died, revealing secrets that have Cody
and Louisa questioning everything they thought they knew and felt about
their families and each other.
Why is it that some of the best books are so hard to review? I loved Walsh's My Phony Valentine, so I definitely want to read this one, too. (And I'll make sure I have some kleenex on hand when I do.)

DeleteI cannot remember if I read this novel or not... (I think I did). But what I do know is I want to finish this series, whether that's books two and three, or just three. Either way, I'm looking forward to this and also Courtney's just released novel, too!
ReplyDeleteRissi, I am too! It looks so fun!
