Happy Friday, my bookish friends! It feels like a huge accomplishment to have made it to 100 Friday posts!!!! I hope you all have a great day and weekend! First Line Friday is hosted by Carrie at Reading is My SuperPower!! I am also linking up with Gilion on Rose City Reader for Book Beginnings. This is where you share the beginning of the book that you are reading. This week am reading Critical Threat by Lynette Eason.
"A third victim has been found and a serial killer is once again thought to be terrorizing the Northeast-just east of the territory Peter Romanos paralyzed with his string of murders," Rachel Goodwin reported from her position outside the prison.
Book Beginnings:
Monday, NovemberOutside Washington, DC
"A third victim has been found and a serial killer is once again thought to be terrorizing the Northeast-just east of the territory Peter Romanos paralyzed with his string of murders," Rachel Goodwin reported from her position outside the prison. "Peter Romanos, who is incarcerated in the new high-security DC federal penitentiary, is serving twelve life sentences. Only this time, instead of teenage girls, this particular killer is targeting older women. That's all the information I have at the moment. I hope to know more soon."
The camera panned away from the woman, and clips of Romanos's arrest thirteen years ago took over the screen.
The man in the recliner stood and frowned. Peter Romanos had gotten what he deserved-caught.
Because he'd been stupid.
Synopsis (Goodreads):
FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley tracks
serial killers, using her skills as a psychiatrist and behavioral
analyst to get dangerous people off the street and safely behind bars.
But prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe knows that just because a killer is
incarcerated doesn't mean they're not a threat. His own father, Peter,
is a serial killer--in prison but certainly not out of Sam's life, as
much as he wishes he was.
When bodies start showing up with
Peter's MO, Sam and Grace are both called in to consult. They've met
before--and though Grace thought they'd made a real connection, Sam
ghosted her. They'll have to get past the awkwardness and mistrust to
solve this case--especially because it's about to get personal.
