My Review:
The Hawthorne House series is wonderful, and I recommend reading them in order. I have enjoyed bingeing this series, and I am so sad that it is over! We finally get Griffith's story in An Inconvenient Beauty. I really enjoyed the narration from Ann Marie Gideon.
Now that Griffith's siblings are settled into wedded bliss, he can finally focus on his love life. Except, even though it is a family thing, he is not planning to marry for love. He is planning to marry someone who is not going to bring a lot of attention to herself. He is going into the idea of marriage logically, even though his choice is completely illogical.
Griffith's first choice is Frederica St. Claire, who is in her fourth season and has the biggest nose, but apparently he can see past that. While he is trying to court her, she keeps fawning him off on her cousin, much to her cousin's dismay. Isabella has a plan, and it does not include marriage.
I adored Griffith and Isabella's relationship. The end of the book is pure perfection when the whole story comes together. I loved it. I was not ready for the book or series to end.

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Griffith, Duke of Riverton, likes order, logic,
and control, and he naturally applies this rational approach to his
search for a bride. He's certain Miss Frederica St. Claire is the
perfect wife for him, but while Frederica is strangely elusive, he can't
seem to stop running into her stunningly beautiful cousin, Miss
Isabella Breckenridge.
Isabella should be enjoying her society
debut, but with her family in difficult circumstances, her uncle will
only help them if she'll use her beauty to assist him in his political
aims. Already uncomfortable with this agreement, the more she comes to
know Griffith, the more she wishes to be free of her unfortunate
obligation.
Will Griffith and Isabella be able to set aside their pride and face their fears in time to find their own happily-ever-after?
It is always bittersweet when a favorite series comes to an end. With the popularity of reboots and revamps these days, never say never about these characters potentially returning!
ReplyDeleteEthan, so true!!!
DeleteI do like the sound of this series! But it'll have to wait until next year. I have too many other books I need to read first. You know how that goes. ;D
