Shadows At Dusk

Title: Shadows at Dusk

Series: Missing in Alaska #2

Author: Elizabeth Goddard

Publisher: Revell

Genre: Christian Fiction, Suspense, Contemporary Romance

Source: Revell

My Review:

Shadows at Dusk is the second book in Elizabeth Goddard's Missing in Alaska series. However, it can easily be read as a stand-alone novel.

The prologue was intense and immediately grabbed my attention. The next few chapters were difficult for me to follow. They alternated perspectives between Carrie and Trevor and were different locations in Alaska. Once they met, the story intersected, and it was easier to follow.

Carrie has an incredible backstory. It is easy to see why she struggles with trust and is fiercely independent. When she loses her best friend, she has to put aside her trust issues and rely on Trevor for help.

Trevor has his own agenda. He is looking for his missing sister, Jennifer. Her last known location is Alaska. Going on Chief Long's recommendation, Trevor asks Carrie for her help. While she is resistant at first, her loss seals the deal.

The stakes are high, and bad guys abound. The Alaskan wilderness might just prove deadly. Carrie and Trevor struggle to stay ahead of the bad guys as the clues mount and point them to a location no one wants to go.

Thank you to Revell for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

★★★★/5

Synopsis (Goodreads):

Montana Detective Trevor West is desperate to learn what happened to his sister, who went missing in Alaska over a year ago, leaving nothing but a few photographs as clues to her whereabouts. At the advice of Police Chief Autumn Long, Trevor enlists the help of an experienced bush pilot. If Carrie James can't help him find the places in the photographs, no one can.

But Carrie has her own agenda. Grieving the death of her closest friend and the only person she could trust, Carrie will help Trevor find his sister on one condition--that he help her track down her friend's killer.

As the two close in on the answers they crave, they'll face dangers and connections they could not have imagined. They'll have to learn to trust one another--and face the dark secrets of the past--if they are ever to discover the truth and bring a killer to justice.

  1. Alaska is always a good setting for an intense read. I've read others by this author, but not this series. Sounds like a good one!
