My Review:

The moment I saw the cover of The Doctor's Christmas Dilemma by Danielle Thorne, I had to read it! I was curious about what his (assumption from the cover) dilemma was. The Doctor's Christmas Dilemma is the first book I have read by Danielle Thorne.

McKenzie and Ben were best friends until he told McKenzie his feelings for her, and she didn't reciprocate. Then he left town to pursue his dream of becoming a big city doctor and not his father's shadow. Now, he is back, filling in for his dad and trying to reconnect with his 6-year-old daughter. 

I did not like Ben from the beginning. I don't have respect for a father who chooses to be absent from his daughter's life for the past five years and then is only back because his family needs him. It's little wonder that his daughter calls him Ben, and he has no right to be aggravated by it. What did he expect?

McKenzie is a giver. She helps her family and friends any time they need it. Her encounters with Ben are awkward as the past continues to hang over them. She has dreams of owning a bookstore, but is afraid to take the leap. She decides instead to buy the diner where she works, since it is already an established business.

The Doctor's Christmas Dilemma is a quick read. McKenzie and Ben both grow a lot through the story. They learn what really matters, and sometimes that looks different from what we expect. The Doctor's Christmas Dilemma is filled with small-town charm, heart-warming moments, and the expected happily ever after. A sweet story to get you in the holiday spirit.
