Happy Tuesday, my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well.
Today's
Top Ten Tuesday is my bookish goals for 2024. This is definetely one of the easier topics we will have all year, LOL! Top Ten
Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.
Here are my 2024 Reading Goals:
- Read 200 books for the Goodreads Challenge-I set a lower goal last year and surpassed, so might as well start here.
- Have a less pressured 2024-this looks like no reading challenges, and way less ARCs. I am doing reading tracking instead of challenges.
- No more than 3 ARCs a month, less is more. Priority reads only!
- Continue to cut back on buying books.
- AND, less visits to the library...
- So that I can continue to read more of what I own.
- Continue to work on completing series, no specific goal this year, last year I completed 19.
- Continue to try new authors, again, no set goal.
- Try more classics-maybe one month, or one a quarter.
- Read 2 Kindle Unlimited books a month-I have been paying for this subscription for several years, last year I only read 16 which doesn't make the subscription worth it. If I don't read at least 2 books a month, I need to cancel this subscription.
- Read books I already own on my KINDLE-maybe one a month? (all these goals are starting to feel like pressure 😂)
And, if you do check out my 2024 Tracking you can see that so far I am on the path to failure with these goals, LOL!!!
Do you make bookish goals? If so, what do you hope to accomplish with reading this year? I would love for you to share in the comments. To see what other topics our bookish friends are doing this week click on the image below.
This is a very practical list, Cindy. I also want to read more of the books I own and read books that have been on my TBR shelf for a long time. Good luck, it looks like you just want to enjoy your reading and that is the best goal.
ReplyDeleteCarla, it really is :)
DeleteA great list. I need to actually read from my TBR. My aim is maybe 1 Blog Tour a month. I have already failed that as I have booked a couple this month and next. I have 1 Blog Tour in March so as long as my next booking is April...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! And good luck with your goals!

Thanks Emily! I have not done great with the goals so far, but there is hope for me yet, LOL! The year is young :)
DeleteI hope you have a wonderful reading year with less pressure! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen!
DeleteGreat list my friend. Hope you succeed. Regine
ReplyDeleteThanks Regine!
DeleteThere are so many wonderful classics out there!
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Astilbe
Astilbe, I am sure there are. It's just a matter of finding the ones that will appeal to me, LOL!
DeleteGood luck! I definitely understand the desire for less pressure and the desire to have goals that feel like pressure. Sigh. We book readers are just like that.
ReplyDeleteJoy, we are our own worst enemy!
DeleteSuch awesome goals, Cindy! Seeing a lot of bloggers for looking to read without pressure. We should enjoy it. Good luck with all these.

Thanks Cheryl!
DeleteI love reading these goals Cindy because I know I'm not alone! Us book bloggers and reading addicts are so alike and it feels good to have you put these down for us. I so identify with #7 and #11. I love series books but feel if I review too many from the same author my blog is too boring. But I want to WANT to read. That's the whole point, right? And I just gravitate to certain authors. I think your list is great and no pressure, you have a fabulous blog so you are doing something right!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shellie, I really appreciate that!! I saw on your post you were worried about being boring, I wouldn't worry about that. I doubt anyone would think that. Last year I posted a lot of books by Emma St. Clair, the year before that it was Jen Turano...it's just the way it goes sometimes, LOL! I had no idea I was doing it until I looked at my most read authors those years.
DeleteGood luck with all of these, especially a less pressured 2024, that's one of my goals too :)
ReplyDeleteI totally get what you mean by the goals starting to feel like pressure. I prefer to have a reading year with little pressure. Otherwise, I'll just throw my hands up and stop reading, lol. Good luck with your goals this year!
ReplyDeleteOh Jenni, I hope I never get to the point where I stop reading!! I love it so much and miss it in seasons where there's very little time.
Delete2023 was my challenge-less year, and it was good but sometimes I found it hard to decide what to read next. I was also off social media so didn't have any hype making me feel FOMO. I think I went a bit overboard on challenges this year because I was so ready to jump back in! I only hope I don't regret it! Enjoy your challenge-less year this year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Haze, I totally get it. I have seen several things about challenges this year and I'm like "well, maybe..." and then I'm like "no, shut that thought down," LOL!
DeleteA lot of goals similar to mine - read our own books and from our own TBRs! I don't know if I can go to the library less though. And ARCs - ugh! I try so hard to stay away from NetGalley, but I have so little shelf control.
ReplyDeleteAwesome goals! I'd never be able to cut back on going to the library (it's my biggest bookish addiction), but having a less pressured 2024 and trying to catch up on series I'm reading are two of my own bookish goals for this year. Good luck with all of these! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Lark! It probably won't be less trips to the library, more like less books out each trip to the library, LOL! I took books back today that I have had out for 6 weeks and haven't had time to read. I feel guilty keeping them out that long.
DeleteGood luck on your 2024 bookish goals! I'm hoping to read more books from my own shelves too.
ReplyDeleteThanks!! Good luck :)
DeleteLove your list! I, too, need to read the actual books stacked on all my bookshelves. But there are just so many books out there I need. Lol!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals this year. 😀
Thanks Nicole!
DeleteYou can do it! These all sound like great goals, Cindy. I am not doing reading challenges this year either, although some are so tempting. I'm holding strong though. Good luck with your goals this year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy, we will be strong together!
DeleteI'm so grateful for my library and the wealth of books they keep there. In recent years, I've tended to check out more from the library. I wish you good luck in all your goals!
ReplyDeleteDeb, I am SO thankful for the library system we have here and I use it quite often. I just need to cut down on the amount of books I am checking out at one time (which is also hard, LOL).
DeleteI stopped reading ARCs years ago. They just screamed at me and then I if I didn't like them I felt guilty about bad reviews. There are too many already published books to keep me busy.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and good luck on your bookish goals. My 2024 Bookish Goals
-Anne
Thanks Anne!
DeleteAs much as I love going to the library, I too need to visit mine less so I can focus on reading more of my own books. Good luck to both of us!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Susan, yes! Or, just get less books on each visit, LOL!
DeleteGood luck with your goal. Spontaneous reading is best
ReplyDeleteCutting back on book buying is always a good thing. I do better at this at times and am worse at other. Right now I'm buying more than I need too. Reading the books I own is a repeat goal of mine! :) Thank so much for visiting my website on this week. :)
