Walking on Sea Glass

Title: Walking on Sea Glass

Series: Sea Glass Inn #1

Author: Julie Carobini

Publisher: Dolphin Gate Books

Genre: Christian Fiction, Contemporary Romance

Source: Kindle Own

My Review:

Walking on Sea Glass is the first book in the Sea Glass Inn series by Julie Carobini.

I went into Walking on Sea Glass expecting it to be humorous. Sadly, it was a heavy story. I will be careful not to give any spoilers, but that will be hard if I am going to say much, LOL!

Liddy moves near her best friend Meg when her marriage falls apart. Not long after settling in, she gets an unexpected medical diagnosis. She starts attending the local church, where she meets Beau, a recent widower. Their romance moves too quickly to be believable.

Liddy makes friends at work and there is a slight mystery there. Eventually, it all comes together, but the reveal of the mystery was lackluster and didn't quite make sense.

Overall, it was an okay story, but I am not invested enough to want to continue the series.

★★★/5

Synopsis (Goodreads):

Falling in love could tear them apart ...

Suddenly single, Liddy Buckle flees the desert to work at an up-and-coming seaside resort with her best friend, Meg. The breezy backdrop of an inn by the sea offers Liddy the dream of starting fresh, but soon she is shocked to discover another setback brewing in her life. Despite the battle that lies ahead, she finds herself drawn to Beau Quinn, a captivating widower with a wounded heart of his own. As Beau and Liddy's burgeoning relationship attempts to survive, will Liddy have the courage to trust a man again--especially one as emotionally fragile as Beau? Can Beau commit to a woman facing a challenging recovery? And what is going on behind the scenes at Sea Glass Inn, where late night deliveries and secret meetings are spoken about in whispers? Set in a fictional California seaside town, Walking on Sea Glass weaves a romantic story of courage, faith, and the power of true love.

  1. It's hard when you're expecting light and happy and get something heavier instead. Especially if you're not in the right mood for it. Sorry this one wasn't what you were hoping for.
