The One With the Kiss Cam

Title: The One With the Kiss Cam

Series: The One Series #1

Author: Cindy Steel

Publisher: Cindy Steel

Genre: RomCom, Contemporary Romance, Humor, Fiction

Source: Own

My Review:

The One With the Kiss Cam is the first book I have read by Cindy Steel. I was drawn in by the fun cover and the unique premise.

What I enjoyed:

💋unique meet-cute

💋not insta-love

💋bucket list items

💋witty banter

💋the flirting

💋 He falls first

💋clean romance-kissing only

What I didn't enjoy:

⛔He was in a long-term relationship and was flirting like he was single

⛔Setting boundaries only to break boundaries

⛔the mild language (he--)

I was surprised by some mild language and an obvious curse word being cut off mid-stride. I try to stay away from books with even mild cursing in, but sometimes I still get caught off guard. I plan to try other books by this author because I did enjoy her writing style.

★★★★/5

Synopsis (Goodreads):

It was just one date.

My friend told me I needed more fun in my life, so I reluctantly said yes. Fun wasn’t exactly in my wheelhouse. After watching my own mother’s love life implode time and time again it’s only natural that I have a few rules to protect myself.

Actually, it’s just one rule…
Avoid relationships with men so I don’t get attached.

I wasn’t worried. Getting attached has never been a big problem for me. This guy was just a warm body in a chair. I was here for the basketball game. I was absolutely NOT here for my date.

Or the kiss cam.
Or the kiss.
Or the impromptu evening with the one man who seems bent on throwing my tidy world off of its axis.

But when my life takes a nose dive, he’s also the man who seems bent on proving to me that good men do exist, dreams can come true, and sometimes throwing out the rule book is when the magic really starts to happen.

★ The One with the Kiss Cam is the first in a series of standalone romantic comedies by Cindy Steel. It is a sweet, closed-door romance full of sizzle, witty banter, and chemistry, but without explicit content.

  1. This one sounds cute. I like that there are bucket list items in it and that he falls first. (And I love when you do your reviews like this with the lists...so clever and fun!) :D

  2. I agree with you on the cursing. I try to avoid it completely, but sometimes it shows up in unexpected places. I just recently DNF'd a book partly because of this. Glad you enjoyed this one otherwise. Hopefully you'll enjoy some of her other books. :)

  3. I saw some hype for this one back when it released, and the cover along with that title does make it look like a cute possible read. :)

    1. Rissi, it was cute, and had a great storyline. Just a few minor annoyances.
