Stacking the Shelves #150, Sunday Post #147, Sunday Salon #141

Happy New Year my bookish friends! I am slowly easing my way back into all the things after taking a break from everything that I could for the last week or so. We did travel to TN so it wasn't quite as restful as I would have liked, but that's okay. I didn't have time to do much reading or anything while I was gone, so not much to report today, LOL! We have gotten about a foot or so of snow in the last two days, it's beautiful, but it also blows my mind. I am still not used to this weather, but I am not complaining. How's the weather by you?

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

My son got me Holding the Light by April McGowan and The Perfect Putt by Annah Conwell (which is hilarious because he doesn't like romance books and they are kissing on the cover!!); I got myself Ten Words to Live By by Jen Wilkin, and the Coffee and a Book candle; my sister got me the bookworm socks, my daughter got me the BookWorm Snuggie, the back says It's A Good Day to Read a Book (it's one size fits most, it's huge!); and finally, two of our blogger friends got me the Book Nerd earrings and For Butter or Worse by Dana LeCheminant from my Amazon wishlist, thanks ladies, I really appreciate it!!!
Other updates:

I finished two books this week, but only did the shortest of reviews on Goodreads, nothing on the blog. I had each member of my family pick out 6 books that I have not read from my physical bookshelves, so I already know 18 of the books I will be reading of the 48 I am planning to do for the Mount TBR challenge. I had them do it on Christmas day as a present to me so they couldn't say no 😂😂😂 I could have let them do more, but I am a mood reader and I like having control, LOL! Here they are with the books they picked:

  7. Ten Words to Live By sounds like a wonderful book. I am the church librarian so I may have to get it for the library. Thanks. Happy New Year.

  8. That's fun that you let each member of your family pick six books for you to read this year! Were they all books you'd bought previously? Or did they get to choose some of their own books for you to read? Curious minds want to know. ;D We got a few inches of snow here in Salt Lake yesterday...well, a few inches where I live, but over twenty inches up at some of the ski resorts. But it's good; we need the snow.

    1. Lark, they were all on our shelves, I am pretty sure I didn't buy the Jane Austen, my husband did, but because they were there, he picked it for me, LOL! Some of them I bought, others were gifted :) I agree, after being in a drought over the summer, all the moisture is good.

  10. It sounds like you had a nice time in Tennessee, even if you weren't able to get much reading done. The weather here is sunny and pleasant. We're supposed to get strong winds later this week, with chance of a power outages. That means a higher fire risk too unfortunately.

What wonderful Christmas gifts! I love those earrings. I love the idea of having your family choose books from your shelves to read this year. Maybe I'll have to try that! I'm not sure I'm brave enough to have them pick six each though. Haha.

I hope you have a Happy New Year, Cindy! Enjoy your week.

    1. Wendy, I understand, LOL! Maybe a smaller number, it's a great way to do something different. I hope the winds die down and you all don't get any fires!

  13. Happy New Year! It's not a bookish theme, but I have a Snuggie that I love. Unfortunately, my cats love it too, so sometimes we fight over it. Lol. I've considered getting a second one for that reason. Here in Central Maryland, we are in the 6-10 inch range for predicted snow on Monday. I love snow, so I'm hoping we're on the higher end of that range. Either way, it will be the most snow we've had in three years. I'm ready for it! Have a great week. :)

    1. Meezan, I hope you get it then. I love snow as well, but I know so many people don't. It was snowing again today, but we didn't get much more than we already had.

  15. It's so fun that your family picked some books for you to read! They're predicting snow for us on Wednesday and Thursday. I live in West Texas, so we don't get snow very often. I'm both excited and nervous. People tend to go a little crazy around here when we get snow, lol. Happy reading! :D

  16. Sometimes it’s nice to be getting back into the routine of things. Not crazy about all the snow right now but I guess I’ll just have to deal. You got some wonderful and useful Christmas gifts! Your family picked some good books from your TBR. Happy reading!

  17. I'm not a fan of others picking books for me but I see quite a few good ones in there so I think they did a great job.

I love your gifts..that snuggie was so cute...even if it is huge.
We are not getting snow here right now and it feels so weird. Usually we are caught up in all the blizzard activity but not this week. We received an unexpected two or three inches this morning and with the bitter cold it is not fun to get out of my driveway right now.

Hope you enjoy your snow days!
