My Review:
I started listening to The Nice Guy Next Door with narrators Rachel Perry and Joe Hempel. However, I didn't like the female narration. She overdramatized her narration, and it got on my nerves. For example, when things weren't going right with the female character, she had the whiniest voice. I just couldn't deal with it, so I switched to reading it.
đź“—small town
đź“—slow burn romance
đź“—Librarian/State Trooper
đź“—slight mystery
đź“—skunk scene
There are some lust scenes that got on my nerves, but overall a cute, predictable read.
★★★/5
Synopsis (Goodreads):
Sometimes love comes knocking when you least expect it.
Millie
Parker just moved to a new town with her teen sister in tow. The only
romance on her agenda is what she's writing in her secret novel, but
sometimes romance can't be avoided.
Especially when your new neighbor
is the insanely handsome and all around nice guy, Jameson Lane. He's
everything a woman could want in a man, but Millie doesn't want a man.
Not now; not ever. Too bad her heart didn't get the memo.
I sometimes struggle with the narration in audio books, which is why I prefer to read them myself. Though I've heard some narrators are amazing. This book sounds cute.
