Stacking the Shelves #151, Sunday Post #148, Sunday Salon #142

Hey my bookish friends! Are the weeks going faster, or is it just me 😜? It was a long week and I think the days are gone where I have time to get my posts completed early. In addition to working, I have been trying to get caught up on all the things, and clean some things out. However, when I saw that the used  bookstore near me was having a $5 bag sale since they are going out of business, my husband, son, and I spent an hour and a half in there Thursday morning. We still have all the snow from last weekend, and it has snowed most days this week (even when it hasn't been on the radar), and is currently snowing. It's crazy, but I do enjoy seeing it. How are things with you?

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

  1. I do wish the days would go faster. We already had two funerals of family members in January this year, and hope that the rest of the year will be pleasant and smooth.
I started a new blog for the new year. Hope you will visit and follow.

  2. That’s really a huge volume of books. I’ve run out of space so I couldn’t do something like that. Enjoy!

  4. Our library has a $5 a bag sale every so often. I've taken so many books to them for the sale. I just called them last week to see when the next one is so I could take more.

    1. Vicki, I like library sales too, but I rarely find Christian Fiction at them, which is what I mainly read.

  5. Wow! I can't read 4 books in one week...that is impressive :) I do love to buy books and look at them though, lol...I'm sure I'm not alone here with that. Glad you've had lot of new exciting ones to start the year with.

    1. Shellie, I hope they will eventually get read! I have a goal to read 48 of what I own prior to 2025, but no reason not to read some of these as well ;)

  6. I can't resist a $5 bag of books. If I don't read them, I'm happy to share them in my Little Free Library. I think I'd start with Jane Austen Ruined My Life. Great title. It's the 250th anniversary of Austen's birth this year, too.

Glad your year is off to a good start!

    1. Deb, I couldn't resist and I REALLY miss having a Free Little Library right outside my door! I have two piles of books I need to go share. I am currently reading an ARC, then I need to start my book club book, but hopefully soon :)

  8. Ooo that sale! I love to find good book sales like that. You made out!

We finally have some snow here! We got about four inches and it is snowing again. It took long enough! Lol.

    1. Erin, it has snowed most of the week. It snowed a bit this morning, then the sun came out, and it's supposed to snow again tonight! I think we are experiencing our first *true* Ohioan winter! Glad you got snow :)

  9. It snowed here too! A $5 bag sale would be dangerous. My TBR would never recover. :)

    1. Aj, mine might not. We won't talk about how many unread books I have in this house, cough, cough.

  10. You can't pass up a bag sale like that! I would have probably filled two. ;D Hope this week is a little less busy for you.

  13. Shoot I don't think I could pass up a $20 bag of books. What a great deal at $5 a bag! It wasn't supposed to snow here this morning but we got a couple of inches. I don't mind it much--especially if I don't have anywhere to go!

    1. Victoria, yes, a bag of books, even at $20 would be an incredible deal. I don't mind the snow either, I actually like it (more when I don't have to drive in it).

  14. Wow that’s a huge haul! I hope that you enjoy them all.

  15. Oh, I hate to hear of a bookstore going out of business…but, five dollars a bag? Wow! I would have jumped on that as well! Running out of room – a creative friend of mine uses stacks of books to display her “pretties”. Hmmm….perhaps a small table would work? LOL! We’ve had Southern NM snow, beautiful, doesn’t stick and leaves behind cold weather! Take good care, Patricia

    1. Patricia, I am happy with culling out the books I have read and will never read again to make space. I realize more and more that my husband and I are "middle" aged, and we need to clean things out so our kids don't have to do it someday.
