Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

I learned to crochet by using Bella Coco's learn to crochet videos on YouTube. I love learning from her videos. I was SUPER excited that my library had a copy of her newest book (I own her first one) |
I also grabbed a couple of Quilting magazines and HGTV magazines to look through.

Other updates:
I finished 5 books again this week, one was an audiobook I had been listening to for a while. I still need to write the review for one of them. With today being the last Saturday of the month, I have updated my other blog with my monthly share four somethings post.
What you might have missed on the blog this week:
Book Review: An Overdue Match by Sarah Monzon
Book Review: The Golden Goal by Annah Conwell
Top Ten Tuesday-Spring Possibilities round 2
Book Review: Green Pastures by Patricia Johns
Book Review: Hide and Seek by Christy Barritt
Book Review: Jesus Storybook Bible
I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.
It's odd that they would want your son back at work if he still doesn't feel well.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about learning to crochet, but I never thought about looking for a book to help me at the library. Thank you, Cindy.
Deb, I LOVE crocheting and the library has fabulous resources. However, it was easier for me to start with YouTube vidoes, but now I can follow the patterns in the books. Good luck :)
DeleteI’m sorry to hear you were sick last week and now your son? Eeeesh! And the powers that be want him back at work. Uh…no thank you! Poor guy!
ReplyDeletePerhaps as you stay home this weekend, you’ll be able to work on your quilt and read. 😊
Yes, I’ve also started going through my TBR! Amazing how our tastes changes!
My go to crochet book is Encyclopedia of 300 Crochet Patterns, Stitches and Designs by Doris M. Smith. I’ve used it for over 20 years at least. I’ll need to post that one next week. Thanks for the inspiration!
Patricia, thankfully he had a fever last night so he didn't have to go to work today. I did work on my quilt yesterday :) I have not heard of that book, but I will be checking to see if my library has it :)
DeleteSorry ya'll have been sick and SHEESH! I don't think your sons co-workers want him back with a sore throat and sniffly nose. They should let the man stay home and rest!
ReplyDeleteJinjer, I totally agree, but thankfully he had a fever last night so he couldn't go in today!
DeleteI will never understand workplaces that have policies like that. :( I hope he feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin!
DeleteEmployers can get a lil cray-cray. My whole team ended up with someone sick for a couple weeks because our workload made it so no one wants to take off.... I think my mom learned most of her crochet skills from YouTube - I'll have to check out those books! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteBecki, I started with YouTube and it made it easier to switch to books for crochet. I agree, employers put too much on people when they are sick.
DeleteI hate when employers make you come in when you're sick almost as much as I get frustrated by parents who send their kids to school when they're still sick like that.
ReplyDeleteLark, same! We had two kids sick in our sewing classes Friday night, so obnoxious!
DeleteI hope everyone starts feeling better soon. Finishing five books in a week is great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy!
DeleteI'm sorry you weren't feeling well and now your son. I hope he's doing better. That's a shame he has to still go to work. I worked for a company many years ago and they didn't want you coming in. They were afraid you'd make everyone sick. I hope this is a better week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Yvonne!
DeleteThe pendulum has swung deeply to the opposite direction than where it was a few years ago during COVID. I hope your son can wear a mask so at least he doesn't feel like he is contagious! Have a good week.

Thanks Anne.
DeleteIt's so frustrating when you're clearly sick, but still expected to go in to work. That's how germs spread and it also delays healing. I hope your son feels better soon and you have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Meezan!
DeleteSome employers are very frustrating with their sick policies and as a nurse who spent many years in public health this makes me see red. I hope your son feels better soon and you both have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jodie!
DeleteCrazy to be expected back at work when you're sick. Praying he feels better soon. Great books this week. The Amish Midwife sounds lovely. Enjoy your week, Cindy!

Thanks Cheryl!
DeleteHopefully everyone is feeling better soon. I guess they think that with no fever, he's not contagious, so that's why they want him back? Seems kind of ridiculous though, since he's clearly not feeling well. Sorry he's dealing with such nonsense.
