My Review:
Blessing Bentley is the first book of the Marriage of Conviction series. I would recommend reading them in order, as the main character of book two is introduced in this story.
What a unique storyline this book has!! Bentley is in Bible Study when one of the ladies raises the question of whether young professional women would choose marriage or possibly give up their careers for the sake of marriage. She said, "It just occurred to me that we weren't designed for singleness-not originally, anyway." Bentley can't get the thought out of her head and asks the lady why she was asking, if she had an agenda or something. This leads Bentley down a Biblical rabbit trail, studying everything the Scripture has to say about marriage.
Once Bentley decides she wants to get married, and with a lot of prayer, she goes and asks the lucky guy to marry her. You all, I was not prepared for who Bentley chose. They do get married, and even though they are not in love, they plan to glorify God with their marriage. The rest of the story is their story of learning to be married and what all that entails.
I really liked the story, and I was invested. I was rooting for the couple, and as the story played out, I was happy with Bentley's decision and could see where it made sense (can you tell how careful I am not to name name so I don't spoil anything, LOL?!). It was a sweet story, and I am ready to dive right into the second story.
★★★★/5
