Stacking the Shelves #171 Sunday Post #168, Sunday Salon #162

Hey my bookish friends! How was your week? Monday found me at the doctor's office, I had a bad viral infection. When I got home, we had a text from our realtor that the buyer had backed out of our house, so it is back on the market. My son is finally better, my husband went back to work for the first time this week yesterday, and I am still sick. I am planning to go to a fabric sale this morning, she is selling most things a dollar per pound 😮, so I don't want to miss it. Otherwise, unless we have house showings, this weekend will be pretty chill.

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. The Stacking the Shelves meme is hosted at Reading Reality.

Other updates:

I finished 4 books this week and still need to review one of them. I also looked through a TON of quilting books and magazines, planning for quilts. It was a nice mindless thing to do when I couldn't focus on anything else.

What you might have missed on the blog this week:

Book Review: A Twist of Faith by Pepper Basham

Book Review: Zero Waste Quilting by Patty Murphy

Top Ten Tuesday-Summer Vibes

Book Review: Charming the Troublemaker by Pepper Basham

More Summer Reading Challenges!

Book Review: A Match for Emma by Pepper Basham

I am also linking up with the Sunday Post. The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. I will also be joining Deb at Readerbuzz for the Sunday Salon.

What books have you added to your physical or virtual bookshelves? I would love to hear from you. Click on the icons below to join in on the fun. Have a great weekend!

  1. Buyers backing out of a sales agreement is really infuriating. I hope the realtor got to keep their deposit — that’s what they do here. Good luck with finding new and decent buyers!

  2. Wow, crazy week. My week was the first one on summer break. I'm a middle school teacher. So I spent a lot of time with coffee and book on the patio. I hope you enjoy your new reads. My new books were the previous book in a series I wanted to read. I've read two so far and moved on to the one that got my attention. You can see them on my blog. https://stuckinbooks.com

  5. Ugh. It is frustrating when someone backs out of a house deal. I hope the next buyer goes through with it. And it's so difficult to be sick when everything is so busy. I do hope you were able to go to the fabric sale; I hope you brought home some great bargains.

  6. Good luck with selling the house. They say it's a buyer's market right now as housing is so scarce.

And you have reminded me that I need to read Ever Faithful still! I really have enjoyed that series so far.

  9. That's a disapointment your buyer backed out. We are moving in just 4 days and that has been stressful enough with the packing, etc. Hope you were able to keep the deposit if it was after the fifteen days when they could back out.

Best of luck in your house showings. Keep us updated!

  11. I am sorry you are still so sick. Sounds like your family has been through the wringer with that virus. Sorry your buyer backed out. We will be putting our house on the market soon. Not looking forward to that song and dance.

  12. Hope you start to feel better soon and sorry about the backer. Lots of good books on your list. I added a new Nancy Drew book to my collection a bit ago and a collection of short stories by Louis L'Amour. Otherwise, not much new right now.

  13. So disappointing that your buyers backed out. There are crazy things happening in the real estate market now! My daughter and her husband just closed on their house and they have a couple of horror stories. Good luck with your sale. Hope you feel better soon.

  14. I’m sorry to hear you’re so sick, but glad your family is recovering. I guess, with the buyer backing out you’ll have a bit more time to find a new home? Hopefully, you found lots of great fabric! I’m liking the Hearts Aweigh cover!

    1. Thanks Patricia. Our house needs to be under contract before we put an offer on a house.
