Title: Spoke Too SoonSeries: Kissing a Kent Brother #2
Author: Dulcie Dameron
Source: Library
My Review:
I did know that Spoke Too Soon was part of a series when I started reading it. It is the second book in the Kissing a Kent Brother series, but they don't necessarily need to be read in order, although our two main characters meet at the end of the first book.
And forgive me for bursting your manly mustache bubble, but most girls don't want to kiss a guy with fur on his upper lip.
Daria and Dane met at a party and hit it off. However, when Daria texts him, she never hears back from him. When they meet again a year later, she is still bitter over it, but it also stems from childhood issues.
Dane is super sweet to Daria, even when she acts like a ninny toward him. He takes care of her despite her stubborn spirit.
Read for:
👗mutual pining
👗one-sided rivalry
👗forced proximity
👗she's a fashion designer
👗he's a pilot
👗LOL moments
👗chemistry
👗Daria's character growth
Overall, I enjoyed the story and immediately started reading the first book. I don't think the third book, Logan's story has been released yet. However, I will be reading it when it releases 😀.
★★★★/5
Synopsis (Goodreads):
It’s every girl’s dream to move in with the hot guy who ghosted her...NOT.
I’m about to be homeless at almost twenty-five.
Cue the pathetic wah, wah, wah sound effect.
And to make matters worse, I’m nowhere near having enough money to fund the clothing line startup I’ve dreamt about for years.
But
bemoaning my current situation won’t move the needle and it certainly
won’t find me a place to live. I have to make some tough decisions.
Which is why I accept the lifeline Charles—Dane—Kent tosses me during a particularly weak moment.
If only living with him didn’t resurrect the old attraction I’ve wished a hundred times would die a quick and painless death.
Yet, here we are. Sharing a bathroom. Invading each other’s space. Tiptoeing around the fact that neither of us wants this…
I mean, neither of us wants this. Right?
Sometimes the way Dane looks at me makes me wonder.
But envisioning what it would be like to let him into my life, close enough to where he could hurt me, can only end badly.
So, reluctant roomies are all we can ever be. Even if my heart begs me to reconsider.
***Spoke Too Soon is a sweet, one-sided rivalry romcom filled with
tension, unnecessary angst, and all the swoony, sizzling kisses you've
come to expect from a Dulcie Dameron novel. ***
