Top Ten Tuesday- March Reading 2026 + updates

Happy Tuesday my bookish friends!! I hope you all are doing well. Today's Top Ten Tuesday topic isBook Titles That Describe Me/My Life. I was totally going to do this topic, but my Mom passed away on April 4th, and all the books I was coming up with were about funeral's, scattering ashes and the like, so I decided to skip it so it wasn't a super downer post. I was able to be with my mom for a few days before she passed, and have been home since Thursday. I am still processing everything and doing ok. So, I decided since I missed doing a March reading wrap-up, I would do an abbreviated one here. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can head over there to see what our other bookish friends are up to today.

Top Ten Tuesday-March reading + updates

Updates:

❤ With Mom passing and having to go and care for her, I missed two weeks of blogging. I am sporadically posting, but just don't have the love and drive to do all the posts I would normally do. I think I will still be hit or miss for a while.

❤ I took this week off of work (not sure if I am going back at the end of the week or not), to recover from the chaos of the last two weeks.

❤ I am still reading! Even while caring for Mom I would find a few minutes here or there to read.

March reading:

I read 21 books and DNF'd 1.

March and the beginning of this month have been dedicated to re-reading the Holly series by C.C. Warrens (all have been 5-star books), as her newest one comes out next month, titled Cross Bones. I finished the last one of the Holly series last night, and started Cross Bones (I have an ARC). So, not counting the Holly books (7 read in Mar, 1 already this month), I only had one five star book that was a new read:

Uncomplicate It by Hosanna Wong (nonfiction)

Updates on my 2026 Tracking (goals):

Goodreads: 61/200

Books from my physical bookshelves read: 12/50 (2 in Mar)

Kindle books that I own: 6/5 (2 in Mar)

Kindle Unlimited read: 15/12 (2 in Mar)

Books read from library: 14 (3 in Mar)

Hoopla (library): 8 (3 in Mar)

Bought: 3

Free Kindle Books added: 0

ARCs Read: 1

Series completed: 8 (1 in Mar)

Won (received in this month): 1

Books added to the virtual TBR: 11 😲-this number always seems to go up, LOL

Now that I am done rereading the Holly series, I will continue to work on reading books from my own shelves. This has really been pressing on me, especially since I pre-ordered a handful of books this year, and out of all the ones that have already come in, I have only read one. I love the library, by right now my focus needs to be my own shelves (currently unread=131 I started the year at 133 and I have read 10 owned books, but with the pre-orders and the ones I have won, I am back at 131!). I really do have so many I can't wait to read!

  3. I'm very sorry to hear about your mom and hope you are finding comfort in her peace. I lost my mom 20 years ago and carry her on the pulse of my heart, she's truly never too far away. Go gently with yourself and keep reading all that your heart desires!

  4. I am so sorry about your Mom, Cindy. What a blow. Take as much time as you need to mourn her loss and your new reality. Love to you during this time.

  5. I am so sorry for your loss. I know that hearing your sorry doesn't do much. I hated when people said that to me when my dad passed away. It's difficult and all you can do is take it one day at a time. You are in my prayers.
