My Review:
Deadly Target is the second novel of the Rocky Mountain Courage series.
It can be read as a stand alone (or, like me, you had forgotten a lot of what happened in the first book), but I would advise reading the first one before this.A lot going on in this book. I had a hard time at first, following everything, and then the believe-ability factor. However, as the story continues to develop things start to come together.
I enjoyed this novel. The characters are well developed, the plot flows smoothly, and it has a satisfactory ending, even though the series will continue. The only thing that I did not like about this story is one thread that was not quite connected to the story or completely resolved.
I
recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic suspense novels that
are low on romance and high on suspense! Fans of Lynette Eason, Lynn Blackburn, Dee Henderson, Nancy Mehl, and
the like will also enjoy this book.

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
Criminal psychologist
Erin Larson's dreams of a successful career come to a screeching halt
when she nearly loses her own life in a boating accident on Puget Sound
and then learns that her mother tried to commit suicide. She leaves her
job as a criminal psychologist to care for her mother in Montana. At
least she is able to produce her podcast, which focuses on solving
missing persons cold cases.
Nathan Campbell's father was
investigating such a case when he was shot, and now Nathan needs to
enlist Erin's help to solve the case. She's good at what she does. The
only problem? She's his ex.
As the two dig deeper, it becomes
clear that they, too, are being targeted--and that the answers to their
questions are buried deep within the past Erin struggles to explain and
longs to forget.
The race is on for the truth in this gripping
and complex tale of suspense, intrigue, and murder from USA Today
bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard.
I'm becoming a bit keen on snowy, mountainous, NP type crime series so I'll look into this one but keep in mind that you advise reading book one first.
ReplyDeleteSounds good, Cath! I hope you enjoy them. I loved book one.
DeleteThis sounds quite intriguing. The cover looks good too. I haven't read any crime thrillers for a while.
