My review:
In Search of a Prince starts with a nod toward Princess Diaries. It then goes on with an original storyline, set on a fictional island off the coast of Africa. This is my first introduction to Toni Shiloh's work, but it will not be my last.
I want to gush so much about this book, but it's hard to give too many details without getting into spoiler territory. Suffice it to say that I enjoyed everything about this story. The beautiful cover first caught my attention, but the words on the page captured and kept my attention. In Search of a Prince is a story about discovering who you are, what your purpose is, and then stepping out in faith to fulfill what you believe God has called you to do. Shiloh created a story where faith was as natural as breathing. There are beautiful friendships, family drama, insta-crush, disappointments, opposition, a small mystery, and even a twist in the story. The romance is tastefully done and there are many tender moments in this novel. This story will pull on your heartstrings and have you feeling all the feels.
The worst part of the book is that it ended! These days, I am usually ready for the book to end, but not so with this one. The great news is that the next book comes out later this year, and I can't wait to read Iris's story.
Thank you to Bethany House Fiction for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Synopsis (from Goodreads):
Brielle Adebayo is
fully content teaching at a New York City public school and taking
annual summer vacations with her mother to Martha's Vineyard. But
everything changes when her mom drops the mother of all
bombshells--Brielle is a princess in the kingdom of Ọlọrọ Ilé, Africa,
and she must immediately assume her royal position, since the health of
her grandfather, King Tiwa Jimoh Adebayo, is failing.
Distraught
by her mother's betrayal, Brielle is further left spinning when the
Ọlọrọ Ilé Royal Council brings up an old edict that states she must
marry before assuming the throne or the crown will be passed to another.
Uncertain who to choose from the council's list of bachelors, she
struggles with the decision along with the weight of her new role in a
new country. With her world totally shaken, she must take a chance on
love and brave the perils a wrong decision may bring.
Sounds like a beautiful book is inside this beautiful cover. I'm so glad you loved this one.
